Brendan Rodgers is coming out with so crap, so much so there has to be a plan behind it, he can't be this stupid?
In Suarez's view, Liverpool have broken a promise, refused to sell him to a CL club (Whats the point of putting that £40M discussion clause in his contract?) and now Liverpool want an apology and 100% commitment from him lol hilarious. How can you expect 100% commitment from a player who doesn't want to be there? If he doesn't apologize he won't train with the team? lol As if Suarez cares about training with the first team
Liverpool will use the lack of an apology/commitment as a pretext to sell, its a carefully planned strategic move from Rodger's and Liverpool
Method in Brendan Rodgers' madness

It's Chelsea or bust for Rooney.

So after spending all summer chasing after Higuain and then Suarez, in the last couple of weeks you're going to move your attention to Rooney.
--------------------
Rooney was the main target alongside Suarez, at the start of the process. Thats why Gazidis made the comment that we can afford Rooney!
Rooney however chose Chelsea over us. Since then however, Man Utd have indicated that they will allow Rooney to go to us but will force Rooney to stay rather than sell to Chelsea. Man Utd do have the financial power to keep Rooney. So it is very dependant on Rooney. And he has indicated last week that he is willing to consider us as an alternative.

I think Moyes would rather cut his balls off and eat them raw than lose Rooney.
He's fresh into the hotseat at Old Trafford and already (probably unfairly) there's a level of hesitancy towards him from certain sections of Utd supporters, before a competitive ball has been kicked on Moyes' watch.
If Rooney was to jump ship & even worse move on to Chelsea (or Arsenal), it'd be a bum-note for Moyes to kick off the new era at Utd.

We have more than enough income thank you very much. Despite all that has gone on in recent years. we're still the 10th richest football club in the world.
--------------------------
With respect you have to understand the difference between hypothetical values and cash flow.
Your owner, just like ours refuses to put in money. You income is not sufficient to support £150k a week players.
-----------------------
With respect I do understand. Our revenue has increased in recent years and we are more than able to afford a £150k a week player.

Wenger held a squad meeting asked the players if they were ok with signing Luis Suarez
The players all think Suarez will be signed, Wenger is in direct negotiations with Liverpool
*meanwhile back in the real world.......

fatjan - these bells will do anything to convince themselves that suarez is joining.
the club have MASSIVELY increased commercial revenue over the last 18 months so money is not an issue. in fact, we have just had an extension and increase in the standard chartered deal taking it to upwards of £40m per season, with training ground sponsorship in the pipeline.

It's not so much a question of LFC looking to cash in, they don't NEED the money, do they?
The issue is that Suarez does not want to be at Anfield and has been none to respectful to his employers about expressing his desire to jump ship.
I totally understand LFC's thinking regarding selling the player to a fellow Prem team and I actually admire their stance. They hold the players contract and it makes a change to see a club stand up to a situation and not buckle when a star player decides to throw his toys out of his pram!
The big issue (imo) is that in my mind, irrespective of how good a player is, IF he's genuinely unhappy at the club, it's almost impossible to get the best out of them and there's no getting around the fact that this can and does rub off on the players team-mates!
Taking into account that Suarez has very publically given a two-fingered salute to Liverpool football club, his team-mates and most importantly the fans.
It looks like he'll stay at Anfield, which as I say, actually admire the Liverpool boards stance on a really messy situation. However, it IS a gamble and it will be VERY interesting to see just how Suarez conducts himself if he does indeed stay on Merseyside.
