Selling Bale next Summer - smaller fee?

There are a couple of things that are bandied about regarding Bale, and our projected transfer spending, one which seems to be at odds with the other:

A) We are spending big this Summer as its the last chance before FFP kicks in.

B) We are spending the Bale money from next Summer.

If A is valid, then B will be a smaller fee next Summer.

If we are to believe that FFP will make a difference, surely this is the Summer we will get the big money for Bale? If it has to be accounted for next Summer, clubs won't be able to pay this sort of money will they?

As it stands now I think we are ok. A) could be true, a moderate investment to try and dodge the FFP rules.

Bearing this in mind though, if any one of Lamela or Willian (or both), I can only think Bale will be off. I don't see the powers that be spending lots of money the club doesn't have personally. We are an investment for Lewis and co, not a toy.

Even if he does go for a smaller amount next year... A smaller fee than £100m is still going to be a huge amount!

A (in ENIC I trust) .
Speculative spending for one of Lamela or Willan.
To get both = Bale definitely gone.

In all honestly, if we get Willian and Lamela, sell Bale now for £85m+.

I thought FFP already started?

"I thought FFP already started?"

My understanding is that when day 1 starts, you get some allowance for the most recent 3 yrs of spending (hence Spurs getting some spending in) .

the thing about the FFP is that even where clubs are exceeding the loss limits, they are ok as long as things are moving in the right direction.

So if we spend mega this summer (Net £60m) and then sold Bale next summer and spent a bit of his fee then, then at least our 'losses' are reducing....and UEFA would be ok with it.
