I doubt I'll be getting PS4 in time to play FIFA 14 on it, but here's the most recent and first properly recorded gameplay video.

As the new Ignite engine promised, there's an improvement in the matchday presentation. The appearance and more importantly reactions of the crowd are much improved, they look far better and now seem aware of what's going on on the pitch, so no more static spectators after you've scored a 90th minute winner. The camera angles are improved and more lifelike, especially in replays and cutscenes.
Speaking of which, the cutscenes are integrated into the actual game which was something that you couldn't say of PS3 and adds to the immersion. Disappointingly, the players still look a bit robotic and expressionless at times in these cutscenes, but it's still an improvement. The graphics in general are improved but not massively and I think this is one area they could've added a bit more detail to.
Obviously we've not had a chance to play it yet but there are a few things to notice about the gameplay. It's important to note that all of the gameplay videos so far have been two humans playing each other but there still appears to be nonstop movement from every player on the pitch which just isn't realistic.
The midfield is still crowded and although the players' touches seem a comfortably better and more realistic than in the current-gen version it looks easier to look for a killer ball over the top than patiently work it around the attacking third. I've been playing a lot of PES 6 on PS2 recently and although sometimes you have to play the ball quickly, you sometimes have time to just slow right down on the edge of the area and wait for an opening, opting to keep possession if there isn't one.
Shooting still doesn't look great, it seems as though it's still easy to get a shot on target from distance or curl it in but players need time and backlift to prepare for the shot in order to get any sort of power on it.
Also the menus are still the same. Hopefully they're less laggy but the team selection remains unchanged since PS2. Surely it wouldn't take much effort to create a quicker way of making and saving a custom formation. Stats are still quite basic, it'd be nice to see something a little more in depth.
Overall there are some promising features but I think it could still be improved a lot, especially in the most vital department, gameplay. It leaves me just as anxious to see what PES can offer on the next-gen consoles as FIFA.

Is that serious 1man?

Yeah looks the same engine as the current fifa engine!!
The ball just doesn't move like that in real life, surely it's entertaining and player movement is very good... But same old fifa in my eyes...
You would of thought with a brand new engine, there would be dramatic changes (ie: PES 2014) but it looks exactly the same! I was automatically gonna buy this title, but now I will look on with an air of caution and will also pick my time to buy a PS4 now too...

I don't think it's all bad but I agree that the ball still doesn't move as realistically as it should. It'll probably be alright but not amazing and with not as many changes as I'd have liked/as are needed. But if it's got glitches that's it.
I'm hoping PES will smash FIFA off the park when it comes to gameplay on PS4. I think it can. The new engine made quite a big difference on PS3 so on PS4, with more time to get used to it, who knows?
Luckily I wasn't planning on getting a PS4 straight away anyway. Other stuff to spend time and money on at the moment.

FIFA 14 is just garbage.
When playing ultimate team it feels like you have no control over the end result, I havent played head to head yet so couldnt comment on that.
on FIFA 13 I won division 1 on head to head divisions and ultimate team divisions loads of times but I am really struggling with FIFA 14, every game is so boring and badly scripted so much that you can actually feel there's a goal coming, this was present in 13 but no way near as bad.
I concede way too many goals from headers, 40 yard finesse shots and over head through balls.
it feels like I have no control over goals I concede which for a game supposedly based on skill is poor.
I played over 100 games and am still struggling to win that many games so I've given up for now, just am not enjoying it. FIFA 13 was terrible for all the glitches it had but this game is just shocking

Decent video. Watch in 1080p full screen for best effect. Some things good, some bad. That's my impression every time.

I tweeted Ben earlier and he replied. The people of that magazine are like celebrities to me, especially the ones left from OPS2

I don't trust their FIFA reviews like I do with those of other games. I don't tend to trust many FIFA reviews though.

I won't judge the next-gen version until I play it. If it's full of glitches again to the extent that it ruins the enjoyment then it can't be more than a 7. But if it's good then it could be a 9. For me a 10 would have to be like PES 6 up a level with shinier graphics and realistic gameplay, plus good licenses and presentation, good game modes, no glitches, immersion. Different people will like different things about the gameplay obviously.
