Liverpool host Aston Villa on Saturday evening in the Premier League's late kick-off.
The Reds have got back to winning ways in 2014 after frustrating defeats at the end of last year, and will be looking to extend their run against the Villans to consolidate their position in the top four. Their last outing was a thrilling encounter away to Stoke City which they won 5-3.
Villa have shown decent away form this season, having taken as many points away from home as today's opponents have. They have also picked up a few points from Anfield in recent seasons, including a 3-1 win last season. Their last match was a narrow home defeat to league leaders Arsenal.
Liverpool have doubts over Mamadou Sakho (hamstring), while Daniel Agger (calf), Sebastian Coates (knee), Jose Enrique (knee) and Jon Flanagan (hamstring) miss out.
Villa are without Nathan Baker (head), Libor Kozak (leg), Charles N'Zogbia (Achilles) and Jores Okore (knee).

If we had played our natural formation this would have been an easy win
------
We would have had more of the ball. That's for sure, and we could patiently wait for a darting run of Sturridge or Suarez.
Brendan dropped a clanger with a midfield 2

Ttliv97 I share your disappointment and I am quite angry as to how poor we were against a strong Villa team in the first half but let's stick together and not spout these kind of comments as you have been.
Save your energy for getting behind this great team.

Brilliant? Not really. We were better than we were in the first half, we couldn't be any worse. The abuse you were giving BR was petty and childish. He tried something and it didn't work, get over it. People like you would be the first to call him one dimensional if he never tried anything different.

Ok let's look at it in a slightly positive light... If we were to experiment, home v villa was probably the one to do it in.
If we'd have done that against any of the top 8 we wouldn't have got back into the game.

Trying something untested when the table is so close is bad enough. Trying something new when the current formation was working (at home at least) is absolutely stupid.

With all your wisdom, i'm astounded that you're not a PL manager yourself.....
Actually, scratch that. With your one dimentional way of thinking, you wouldn't last 2 games in an under 5's league....

Hindsight is great but having both Sturridge and Suarez on the pitch is great...
Should have been Sturridge playing a little wider of Suarez with Raheem the other side.
This would have then given us the three of Lucas, gerrard and Coutinho / Henderson.
Don't forget Rodgers is still a young manager and learning.
