Is this our best run ever??

A question for all of our older fans? have we had a longer unbeaten run than this?
I am in my 50s , and cant remember a better run than the one we are on now.
Anyone disagree??

We certainly went 23 league matches unbeaten in League 1. I don't know what our record for this league is.

Yes i should have said championship run. I did forget about league one. When you are on a run like us , a lot of the past just becomes a blur.

In the old div 1 in the 62/63 season when we finish 4th, we went on a 18 game unbeaten run, and during that run we were top of the league..and as a 16 year old at the time.it was a great city side (also know as the ICE KINGS ) we had then under the Great Matt Gillies.

Younger fan in my 30's - we seemed to be quite a force in the 60's and at certain points in the 70's as well. Unlucky not to have won the FA cup or league, we seemed to be under a mini revival in the 80's, where did it all go wrong?

I seem to remember as a young kid (not a city fan at this point) that it went off the rails in the late 80s under David Pleat? I started supporting Leicester under Brian Little in his first season

1970/71, which somehow I can remember very clearly, City went something like 17 games unbeaten in the league in the old Second Division. The only defeat during that time was an FA Cup loss at Arsenal, and I was in the Clock End to see it (with probably only one other Leicester fan). Anyway, I shan't go on about the disallowed goal that night.

For me we are the most complete team in my experience we have potential stars but this team at the moment is the some of its parts not some stars and the rest

...Rodney Fern header?

^ it was I believe. If I am right it was held that Rodders used Pat Rice's back as a springboard but (I am bound to say), this wasn't the case.

I do believe it was 18 undefeated in 1962/63 but that was of course in Div 1 (equivalent to today's Premiership).
I have to agree wholeheartedly with Nev - having watched the Gillies' side from the early 60s, I have to say that this current squad run them very close and may well eclipse them. As the saying goes there is no "i" in team, and they certainly prove the point.

Gally- The currrent side is an outstanding team in most departments with few weaknesses. I think we all need to consider though the immense opposition City sides were facing throughout the 1960's, heavily laden with world class talent in every area and how we matched them right up the end of the decade in every area.

Next season, all being well, we should see how this current side, together with necessary additions, fares against leading teams with simply brilliant players. I regret to say it is going to be a struggle.
