With Pep preferring to use Lahm as his holding midfielder with Schweinsteiger & Kroos ahead of him, could it be feasible that Martinez is available this Summer?
I think Javi Martinez could be snapped up FAR easier than Toni Kroos & I would say that we need a midfielder of his ilk far more than we do of Kroos'.
Martinez is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and I'm very surprised he hasn't featured that much for Bayern this season.
I do think we need a playmaker as well as a combative midfielder but with the chances of signing Kroos slim imo, we should switch our attentions to trying to sign Martinez and widen our search for that deeper midfield playmaker elsewhere. Miralem Pjanic would be excellent.
This all depends on who becomes our manager of course. I would be sporting a 'fat one' if we managed to capture Klopp, but at the same time I like the idea of a manager like Van Gaal coming in to reverse the damage.
The more I read up about Van Gaal, the more he impresses me. I like Ancelotti as well but I can't see him leaving Real Madrid yet.
Exciting times and I think we are in for one of the most eye-catching summers in recent memory
