Shame they look so tedious.

Pep will probably just turn him into a cb.

Darren.

He most probably will you're right.

Shame if he does really because I feel he is wasted there. Can see why he would play him there though, seems as he likes his defenders to play out from the back and be technically sound.

He has a habit of doing this hasn't he. Mascherano dropped further back under Pep.

He doesn't get used as much as I feel he should.

Almost made as many appearances from the bench as he has starts.

He'd be a brilliant signing for us but I concur with Darren.

nah, he's won like 3 trophies with them already and is in the German FA Cup final too which could be another trophy.

Pep once played Alves, Mascherano and Busquets in a back three.

No.

Ancelotti's on the other hand, yes.

TRS.

Its even more surprising that Lahm has been the one who has kept him out of the team.

I always felt Lahm was immense as a full back and didn't see the need for him to move to a midfield position but hey what do I know?!!?!?

Lahm is an intelligent footballer, he'd probably adjust himself to play striker too.

Nah I think Pep is in it for the long haul at Bayern

posted on 23/4/14

It's because, as good as Pep is, he's also a twaaat.

Lahm is one of the most intelligent and adaptable footballers I've seen.

Almost as good as O'Shea.

RVP's Left Foot.

Agree. I'm sure Pep said he is the most intelligent and tactically aware footballer he's ever worked with. Some compliment that.

I just thought Schweinsteiger and Martinez was the complete midfield partnership and it contains a lot of power, stamina and all round QUALITY. Those two really dominated midfields for Juup's Bayern side and I was shocked to see Pep change this.

Pep is obsessed with possession so much, look at this from him tonight:

Guardiola: "It is difficult as we were unable to score away. But I have told players they were big, real footballers, owned ball at Bernabeu"

TRS.

I still maintain Dion Dublin is one of the finest at this.

Centre back, striker... what a player.

Yeah but Pep loved Xavi and none of those two are even close to Xavi and just don't possess his level of technical ability.

It's why, even though I don't think he's quite Xavi either, Thiago will be moulded into Bayern's vital midfield cog if Pep stays there long enough - he's the most technically gifted midfielder at the club.

I just can't believe Barca let him go with a whimper, barely putting up a fight to keep hold of him.

It was obvious he was the heir to Xavi and he is not getting much younger. Barca's play has stagnated in line with Xavi's decline due to age.

I've not watched a whole lot of Bayern this season RVP's Left Foot so not really able to judge.

From the matches I have seen, I have been mightly disappointed with Gotze's development.

Granted he has been in and out of the side, but he looks half the player he was at Dortmund.

That's where ffp comes in I guess. With the Neymar transfer they had to get rid of someone perhaps?

posted on 23/4/14

They didn't really have a choice. He had a buyout clause and was hardly getting any games so as soon as Pep came calling that was it.

Koke is the heir to Xavi anyway. He'll be in a Barca shirt in the next couple of years I have no doubt.

Agree with that Darren.

Thiago in a three with any two of Schweinsteiger, Kroos and Lahm is much better than those three together.

I was desperate for Javi to sign for us before he moved to Bayern, he would have been the perfect player for us at the time and I always thought that we would eventually regret it.. The ship might have sailed on that one.
