Clive Allen 'Knows the score'

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tottenham-hotspur-new-manager-carlo-3473632

Clive Allen has stated that he expects Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti to become the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The former Spurs poacher, speaking to talkSPORT, declared that he expects Tim Sherwood to be moved aside when the season reaches its conclusion and that ex-Chelsea and PSG coach Ancelotti will be his replacement.

"If I was a betting man I’d have my money on Carlo Ancelotti," said Allen.

"There won’t be just the one option, because if Van Gaal was on their list, that’s gone now, his move to Man United looks to be done and he’s been very clever with his recent comments.

"I think they’d look at someone like Pochettino too."

Allen's declaration comes despite the Italian having voiced his intention to remain at Real Madrid beyond the summer, having led Los Blancos to Spanish Cup glory, as well as the Champions League semi-finals.

Spurs will once again not be at European football's top table next term after a tumultuous campaign.

And Allen, who believes Tim Sherwood has done a good job since taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in December doesn't expect more upheaval to lead to a sustained top four challenge next season either.

"I find it difficult to accept that another appointment will change it so dramatically that they will be challenging for the top four straight away.

"What a lot of people don’t appreciate is that everything changes when a new manager comes in.

"You can’t just bring in a whole new group of staff and coaches who start a new regime, where they adopt a particular philosophy in terms of football on the pitch and even things like fitness training, and expect instant success."

Thoughts?

Louis van Gaal

Frank de Boer

Luciano Spalletti

What does Ancelotti have to fail to win this season for Madrid to give him the boot ??
Both of La Liga and the CL ??

If some of German football land had their way, he would already be sacked.

Any of Van Gaal, De Boer, Klinsmann, Garcia, Benitez or Ancellotti would be ok with me, the others... no thanks.

Fuçk me! He must be dreaming. That's up there with those David Villa rumours when he was in his prime. What makes it harder to comprehend is that it's come from Clive Allen, not some fat kid on his mum's laptop. He surely doesn't really think that Ancelotti would give up what he's got at Real?! Even if he's saying this on the assumption that he'll get fired if they don't go through tonight, it's still ridiculous. He could go anywhere he wants. Madrid won't sack him anyway. He's just won the Copa Del Rey which I think is the same as Mourinho in his first season. They didn't sack him. It's moronic.

We'll end up with Pochettino. No disaster if you ask me.

A Dutch journo has just tweeted that weve made an approach for de boer, and he would listen etc. I would copy and paste but I'm on the shatter at work. A quick Google search will bring up the results.

We'll know soon enough if Clive Allen is wise not to be a "betting man" (regardless of what happens to Ancelotti) .
