Talk to Frank?

The Guardian is reporting that Frank de Boer has confirmed that Tottenham have made an approach for him to become the new 'head coach' (I think we need an old fashioned "manager" but anyway...).

Say what you want about those pinkos at the Gruan, their football gossip is usually more accurate than most other media (they reported Moyes leaving 4 days before it happened).

My record on Spurs managerial appointments is quite excellent, if I don't say so myself.

- I fundamentally opposed the decision to replace Jol with Ramos.

- I applauded and celebrated the decision to replace Ramos with Redknapp.

- I continue to argue that the sacking of Redknapp was the biggest mistake this club has made in 20 years.

- I was disgusted that Levy reinstated the Director of Football system; I thought he had changed his mind after abolishing it the it the previous time.

- I said from day one that AVB would fail at Spurs (my preferred candidate was Martinez).

- I said from day one that Sherwood would do absolutely OK. But not last beyond the end of the season because of his lack of experience.

RC knows his stuff - but de Boer is a mystery to me,

Can anyone tell me why he is/isn't good enough for the job?

By the way, winning the Dutch league is about as flimsy as an Arsenal title challenge - we could give the job to Steve Mclaren.
