In terms of achievement, then the invincibles side. Not for going the whole season unbeaten, but it is still the only time a team has won the league that hasn't been in the top three in terms of value.

To everyone else's benefit, Wenger has tried to replicate the feat ever since and failed miserably.

You're not allowed to say that, melton. Arsenal fans seem to think Wenger has worked miracles on a shoestring budget by staying in the top four.

I wonder if Wenger knows what a shoestring budget is. A season managing Hull or Norwich would probably help him find out.

He's worked miracles in getting them to pay the ticket prices they do to pay for his own contract, that's for sure...

None of Chelsea, Arsenal, United, Liverpool or City are working on shoestring budgets. Arsenal pay some of the biggest wages in the league. I do wish they would stop all this nonsense. Arsenal pay mega wages compared to nearly all the other clubs in the country.

I think the United team of 2008 is the strongest, even better than the 99 team

The Arsenal 99 team was VERY, VERY close in terms of quality to the United treble winning team. With United just edging them.

They were both great sides, however the Invincibles were leaps and bounds ahead of the 99 Arsenal side and therefore leaps and bounds ahead of that United side.

I don't see how anyone can see past a team that played direct, attacking football and still nobody could beat them.
