The tempo of tonights game was just absolutely insane and it gets me wondering why Barca and Bayern do it so much better than everyone else and why other teams can't implement it. Is it more tactical or is it that others don't have the fitness?
A very enjoyable game. Best I've seen in a long time.

Amazing game, very glad I witnessed it, Real Madrid have been great the past 18 months but I think still the hands down best two teams in Europe is Barcelona and Bayern

The last fifteen minutes really cost Bayern as they had put so much effort into it that they looked a bit ragged by the time the whistle blew. Absolutely astounding speed of football - but for me what sets the Bayern and Barcelona players out is the simple intelligence of all their players when it comes to receiving, passing and awareness of the ball. Sounds very basic but English players are so behind in this aspect.

You need discipline up front and a high line in the back. Most flair players and star strikers do not have the mentality to press press press and most coaches do not have the balls to play such a high line.
At Arsenal probably only Alexis has the work rate to play like that. Giroud is too slow and I don't see any of our wingers to put in a shift like that and still be effective attack wise.

Arsenal definitely can't do it. We have quite a few passengers who don't work hard enough to win the ball back. There have been several games this season where you see Alexis frantically waving our players forward to try and pressure the ball.

If we deployed this kind of intensity
Welbeck
Alexis--Rosicky--Ox/Theo
Ramsey--Coq
Unfortunately this isn't our strongest line-up but if we ever did ever employ this kind of philosophy the potential is there.
