Now for a promotion charge next season
Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino said: “I would like to thank the senior management team and all of our employees for their hard work and effort during this difficult period to help achieve these improvements in the business performance of the club.
“The accounts illustrate the commitment that has been made to resolve the financial issues which have surrounded Leeds United Football Club. The club is now on a stable financial footing for the first time in many years.
“We are confident that we can continue to make further improvements in the years ahead. We hope that we can now finally begin to focus and invest the club’s income, generated through our supporters and sponsors, into improving the quality of the playing squad and performances on the pitch.
“We would like to thank the supporters and our sponsors for their continued patience and support."

There's a lot of guesswork going on.

Had these results come out and the club been in rude health since the 30th June 2015 with increased attendances, new sponsorship deals struck up and been showing signs of intent in the transfer market then there could have been more grounds for optimism. Sadly we know that since that date attendances are down, we don't have a shirt sponsor, we haven't tied down Taylor, Cook and Mowatt and we claim to lose money on the games covered by Sky.
None of those signs would suggest an improvement in our finances since the date of the accounts being released and what that would mean for investing in the team.

Not to mention impeding court cases and legal costs since that date too....

No they didn't.

H needs some basic accounting training to understand the difference between profit & loss and debts.
Interested to know why the club chose to put out this story rather than waiting for the full accounts to be published. Amused by the phrase " injected £42.96million". I thought that was a medical term. Presumably they are avoiding publicising the scale of debts which I suspect are eyewatering?

I can honestly say that in school art and sport were my best subjects, but Maths and English!.
2 good reasons why when people talk numbers I left the country!.
Mind you, I'll be the first to admit my English is better than my German!.
