We're far from debt free. It's estimated at around £50m debt.

Had these results come out and the club been in rude health since the 30th June 2015 with increased attendances, new sponsorship deals struck up and been showing signs of intent in the transfer market then there could have been more grounds for optimism. Sadly we know that since that date attendances are down, we don't have a shirt sponsor, we haven't tied down Taylor, Cook and Mowatt and we claim to lose money on the games covered by Sky.

None of those signs would suggest an improvement in our finances since the date of the accounts being released and what that would mean for investing in the team.

Leeds confirmed on their official website on Wednesday that the previous year's debt of £22.9 million has been slashed to just £2 million.
