Where have you all gone

We seem to have gone very quiet on here.
Are we all suffering from the stress of last week end? not knowing
if we can continue without Jamie.

Given one wish, which game would you choose to gaurantee a win for the foxes.
Is the Swansea game more important to win than Man Utd?
Or maybe Chelsea away? Give your opinion and why.

I think Man utd as they seem to be gaining a bit of form.

Apprehension, unease, 'the jitters'...whatever you call them, we've all suffered from them in the past-and for many, including myself I hasten to say-in the present.

The feelings, certainly in my case anyway, are somewhat akin to the nervy days of taking examinations, job interviews, moving house etc.

It would be impossible to state exactly how I felt this week 47 years ago, a fruitless and desperate quest for an FA Cup Final ticket, but I can align my feelings now to what I went through during the 3 weeks thereafter and the horrendous emotions that passed through my mind at Old Trafford on the last day. Time may have lapsed but the aftershock leaves wounds that take years to heal.

The FA Cup Semi-Final against Liverpool in 1974, the Oxford game when we were staring a dark abyss in the face and one or two others have left their mark. At this moment in time, with a distinct lull in proceedings only adding to the torturous agony, and not willing to settle for second best having come this far, I feel just about a shambles of my former self.

How on earth are Swansea back to their best, they've just lost 3-0 to Newcastle.

YH
Before that they were second (behind us) on form over the last six games. No push overs.

Downs
I think we're all feeling those pre-exam/interview/moving butterflies – except arro maybe.

Praying that the outcome is different from 47 years ago – is it possible it's really that long? On the bright side, at least we can't be relegated.

Yes Vulpesy, a long time ago indeed. As you'll probably recall, many of the local leading clubs held an allocation of Cup Final tickets and sometimes they were obtainable. There was no 'online service' or operators, just one, maybe two lines into the club. Many people didn't have a home telephone in those days so it was a case of dropping a few shillings in the local coin box (and pushing buttons A & B).

Fair enough Vulpes, but they have been pretty poor for most of the season. Granted they did pick up to save themselves but now the job's done they looked to be on the proverbial beach against Newcastle.

If you beat Swansea you will win it. Please beat Swansea

Talking of press button pay phone's and job interview nerves – that's how I got my first job interviews: photocopied pages from 'The Creative Handbook', a bag of 2p pieces and a long day in a phone box at Hammersmith tube station (which had dozens of them).

Your Honour
You're right of course, they've been dreadful all season until that little run. Let's hope they're still thinking about shades and factor 15 on Sunday.

Swansea are back to their best and United will be desperate to get points. No Champions League means no Mourinho. Everton would have been a tough one, but all their eggs are invested in the cup - that was a disgrace at Liverpool last night.

Chelsea are the key - in two games.

If they turn Spurs over (which they always do) then you might get close.

This is one of the most incorrect post's I've ever seen. Not even sure if it's a matter of opinion!

"Swansea are back to their best....."

"No Champions League means no Mourinho....."
Actually I think Mourinho would join MUFC in a heartbeat, CL or not. Still relies on them wanting him though too.

"Everton would have been a tough one....."
Well all games are tough but Everton would be a preferred choice over most teams right now even without the cup on their minds. A team with nothing to play for in the league who don't seem to be behind their manager.

"..... then you might get close."
I could give you the benefit of the doubt over what you meant with this but don't want to! We're already closer than any other team in the league
