Mkhitaryan as AMF?

Alot of people place Mkhi as the RW in most line ups, but Mourinho said this yesterday:

“We have a new defender, a new midfielder, a new attacking midfielder and a new striker,".

Is it just a case of word semantics, or do you think José sees him as an AMF first and foremost, with Lingard being the main right/wide option?

I think by that he means he can operate in the attacking area that 3 positions cover. I'm sure he will use him centrally at times but with Rooney and Pogba I don't see much of it for now and he will start on the right.

I have been a Rooney fan but now I think we should be using Mkhitaryan as an AM instead of him

Any side we put out looks better on paper without Rooney.

Whether it's Lingard wide and Mkhi centrally, or Pogba in the AM role.

I'm happy to give Rooney a month or two to see what he can do with Mourinho and the new players.... But José has made sure that the pressure is on him now.

Any continued poor performances and the likes of Mkhi, Mata, Pogba and Lingard will be sniffing around that more advanced central spot.

I'd always classed and AMF in a 4-2-31 as anyone of the three positions behind the striker. Whether it me LAM, CAM or RAM.

However I guess he did also say we'd strengthened down the spine of the side.

Nope.

442 all the way

darmian
smalling
jones
shaw

valencia
mata
rooney
New lw

ibra (until better/younger is found)
martial/depay

easy really

Valencia will need replacing very soon and a proper/experienced lw is essential

The likes of Fellaini, Schwein, Schneid, Carrick and Blind will all have roles to play (if they stay) and hopefully Mkhitaryan doesn't turn out to be, yet another, shoot thru/ 'false dawn'.

mind you, the usual ovine numpties on these boards already have him down as 'the new messi' etc

The likes of lingaard, herrera and januzaj just need to go. They had their undeserved chances. Time to be honest and pizz off.

Indeed, was pleasurable to see as opposed to pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass some more, then pass
