A top flight footballer was rescued from a river in the early hours of the morning after clubbing in Glasgow.
The Evening Times understands that the footballer had been partying at a city night spot prior to the incident.
He left the club and the alarm was raised after 2.30am that he had fallen into the water at the River Kelvin in the West End.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene. When they arrived, Police Scotland officers searched the area while the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched their boat from Polmadie Fire Station in Glasgow’s Southside.
player, who is 26, was rescued and rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The Evening Times understands he was in the company of another professional footballer prior to the incident.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland both confirmed their attendance at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 2.40am on Sunday, August 27, police received a report of a 26 year-old male in the River Kelvin, Partick.
“Emergency services attended and a full search of the area was carried out with the male being located.
“He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."
The player’s condition is unknown and The Evening Times made attempts to contact his club
Story is from the evening times as in the report, and the player is alleged to be GMS. Whoever it is, hope they're ok.
Speculation that this is GMS?!?

I think anyone that makes up this kind of story and posts it on here would be a bit sick, being honest TMQ. I get I'm not the funniest guy on here or carry a lot of respect, but I'd have thought folk could see when I'm saying something fairly serious.

I simply assumed it was a case of jumped in got a bit in bother got rescued and all is well. Drunken misadventure but will take stick next time he's on the park.

Don't know the full circumstances Miller, all I knew was that it seemed to be pretty serious and the fact that his club wouldn't comment made it look to me that it wasn't looking good.
