On Friday one of the most unique dart tournaments kicks off in Wolverhampton. The Grand Slam of Darts sees BDO players join PDC stars, with a group stage and knockout format.

No Phil Taylor in that one, and seedings based on the performances in the 22 Players Championship events meaning a shake up on the normal Order of Merit rankings leading to an interesting draw.

Now perhaps that happened but with no world championship even considered and darts not televised for another number of years I choose to see it as a total Christmas fairytale that he has no qualms about passing off as real
