Decent atmosphere at Wembley last night. Good solid performance, not as exhilarating as the Chelsea win at the weekend, but with squad payers coming in was to be expected. Spurs are now competing admirally on three fronts Prem, CL and League Cup and can be rightly called in my opinion the second best side, behind Man City, in the Prem right now. The very, very strong squad is now showing its worth, and whilst the wheels are starting to come off at other pretenders for the trophies, Spurs seem to be going from strength to strength with very little fuss.
Just winding up through the gears now, for the very busy Xmas and New Year period, not to mention the seven games still to be played in December in three competitions, Spurs are showing they are absolutely capable of going a long, long way this season in multiple competitions.
Plusses from last night Verts back looking solid, Mo Sissoko having another great game, Aurier looking several levels up on Trippier, Harry although he did not score is really looking very strong leading the line. Downside from last night, I thought both Moura and Lamela were poor, Davies I think we all know needs replacing, but other than that pretty happy with the overall display, and as it is a results business, Spurs done what they had to. Barcelona away will not be easy, but I am convinced with Spurs best team or near enough on the pitch, they can get a favourable result, and take Spurs through to the knockout stages of the CL, and bring CL to the new WHL this season, as advertised.
Right on to the North London Derby, I expect Son, Dier and Eriksen all to come back for that one, Verts to start alongside Toby, making the team pretty well full strength. A win at the Emirates will end a very satisfying seven or eight days. Not taking anything for granted, but I am expecting a victory for the first time in a while.
Summing up, Spurs should be very handily placed now in all three competitions going into the very busy schedule, and on course to finally bring some trophies back to WHL.
A pretty happy bunny. COYS.
Great win for Spurs last night in the CL

Calm it Sandra, he was just part of my analysis. I was merely saying Aurier is far superior to Trippier. Nothing wrong with comparing players in the same positions is there?

Just think it’s a weird obsession you have. Constantly mentioning him in your articles even when he’s injured.

Well that’s just wait and see for your next article, I’m sure a particular name will crops up once again. Can’t wait to see him back in the squad actually, just to see how upset you get.

It wasn't a classic European night but we did what we had to do, fair play to Poch he took a risk with his team selection and got away with it.
Barca are going to have a much tougher domestic season than usual this time and have already dropped alot of points to the lesser clubs, for that reason I cannot see them risking their top boys in a meaningless match (for them).
I'm sure their b listers are still very good players but it means we have a proper chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This season i think Poch is really trying to develop us as a squad.
We have gone into several key games and refused to rush back key players like Alli, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Dier, keeping them on the bench.
Some rotation has been by neccessity but overall i think Poch is trying to ensure we can make several changes without weakening performances. These are carefully done, to still put out a very strong side when needed but for some games in our recent run (Wolves & Palace for example) there have been 5 or 6 players rested or started from the bench.
With the ability to change tactics and formation, which we have been perfecting over the last couple seasons, we continue to develop impressively.
I think this squad management will serve us well over the course of a long season.
If you compare to say Liverpool, their front three have played all but one of their 13 games so far. Where as the likes of Alli, Son, Lamela, Moura have shared the appearances around more with only Kane an ever present. I think this might tell as the season grinds on!

Much the same as you used to if Sissoko was near the team. Pot and kettle mate.

Not sure there was many of us banging on the door to get Sissoko in the team, and I know you certainly wasn’t.
