Morning Sandy
We looked great last night again and I'm looking forward to the NLD.
Nice to see that after a few rocky performances near the start of the season where we still picked up points, we're starting to click at the busiest time of the season
my only gripe with last night, and it seems to happen a fair bit with us, is we scored the goal late on and then sat back allowing Inter 2-3 chances in the space of 5mins where Lloris did well
aside from that, we were in control and never once did I fear them. To be fair I didn't fear them in the first game and yet somehow we walked away with nothing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes mate, after we scored, as usual we dropped back, and allowed a few chances. Decent overall performance last night, and although Inter had a couple of chances, Spurs were never in any great danger, Inter though did defend very well. Spurs do seem to be winding up again, as they usually do at this time of the year, which is nice to see.
After the Arsenal game, a decent set of fixtures, which will allow I think for a bit of rotation. Although obviously have to go full strength for Barcelona.

dont agree that we sat back, they had to come at us so it was always going to be trying to counter
Also Sandy, atmosphere was pretty poor last night mate.. just dont enjoy wembley
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn`t bad where I was right behind the goal in Club Wembley. I do get some parts of the ground are pretty poor for atmosphere though.
The modern game is supported by prawn sandwich eating, broadsheet newspaper reading, suit wearing middle class types.
Guys such as meself have been priced out of the game. That's the reason why the atmosphere at most stadiums is dull.
Great result, glad there’s still something to play for in the final group match.
It’s going to be tough for the players we have Arsenal Sunday, Southampton on Wednesday, then lesta on Saturday kick off 7.45 which normally I would love but we have to then play barca on Tuesday.
It wasn't a classic European night but we did what we had to do, fair play to Poch he took a risk with his team selection and got away with it.
Barca are going to have a much tougher domestic season than usual this time and have already dropped alot of points to the lesser clubs, for that reason I cannot see them risking their top boys in a meaningless match (for them).
I'm sure their b listers are still very good players but it means we have a proper chance.
It was an excellent result Sandy and I’m thoroughly looking forward to Arsenal Sunday now in the form we are in.

Calm it Sandra, he was just part of my analysis. I was merely saying Aurier is far superior to Trippier. Nothing wrong with comparing players in the same positions is there?

It wasn't a classic European night but we did what we had to do, fair play to Poch he took a risk with his team selection and got away with it.
Barca are going to have a much tougher domestic season than usual this time and have already dropped alot of points to the lesser clubs, for that reason I cannot see them risking their top boys in a meaningless match (for them).
I'm sure their b listers are still very good players but it means we have a proper chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This season i think Poch is really trying to develop us as a squad.
We have gone into several key games and refused to rush back key players like Alli, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Dier, keeping them on the bench.
Some rotation has been by neccessity but overall i think Poch is trying to ensure we can make several changes without weakening performances. These are carefully done, to still put out a very strong side when needed but for some games in our recent run (Wolves & Palace for example) there have been 5 or 6 players rested or started from the bench.
With the ability to change tactics and formation, which we have been perfecting over the last couple seasons, we continue to develop impressively.
I think this squad management will serve us well over the course of a long season.
If you compare to say Liverpool, their front three have played all but one of their 13 games so far. Where as the likes of Alli, Son, Lamela, Moura have shared the appearances around more with only Kane an ever present. I think this might tell as the season grinds on!
