Pool's title to lose.

I get that it's only January, but if Pool do beat City tomorrow night, i would say that's the title race over already.

In spite of there being plenty of games left, i cannot see them losing enough points with also City not dropping any for them to be caught.

It was always going to happen. I had actually accepted they were going to do it in 2014. Almost got me to the point where i nearly didn't watch our match against them at Anfield.

But they're a better team this time instead of just having the best player.

On a side issue, if our board and fan base are patient enough, it's taken Klopp 4 years to get Pool to this point. Could we not give our Head Coach a similar amount of support?

Perhaps if we did, then they might do what we want with some of our younger players.

I see you've neglected to enlighten me with your interpretation of, "I'm not in a job anymore"!

Every other comment but not the important one!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's a full response there, including addressing him not beign in a job.

Is reading comprehension really that difficult for you?

"He said he'd rather quit football than resort to paying that sort of money for players!"

No he didn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A response full of waffle, avoiding what you don't want to address.

I'll forget I asked to make it easy for you!

Happy New Year!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure how you're missing the point here to be honest.

Me neither!! You’ve put two quotes together to make a point - Manfrom has then shown you the actual conversation with the quotes in the correct place!! Or do you not understand the term ‘taken out of context’?

Maybe you could explain where in this quote he says he won’t spend money?:
'If I spend money, it is because I am trying to build a team, a real team. Barcelona did it. You can win championships, you can win titles, but there is a manner in which you want it.'

Sounds like he saying it’s the WAY you spend money - further backing up the point above. Or are you one of those fans that only sees things in a way that fits their anti-opposition agenda?

I never at any time quoted that comment, just this one below, although admittedly in different text.

“The day that this is football, I'm not in a job anymore”

That's his quote, unless of course he's been misquoted, in which case we are debating nothing. To me, I can think of no other interpretation, apart from he doesn’t want to be a part of a game that spends vast amounts of money on football transfer fees. And why I asked Belmonty what his interpretation was.

The response was a long rambling justification of every other quote in there apart from the one I have referred to, which in his words were just clickbait. So he tries to win a debate using every comment except the one in question – well sorry he can’t have it both ways, it’s either all clickbait or it isn’t.

Nice use of the insinuation that the other person is dim when your argument is failing though, good bit of work that maybe I’ll put it in my locker for the future. Not sure why he was being so prickly about it though, it’s not like I was on the WUM or made the article up or something, although I do understand the media can distort words. It was allegedly his comments, which in retrospect were a bit hollow but that’s football now – no big deal.

If you have any logical interpretation for that line, then I’m all ears.

So long as it’s not a long winded witter like Belmony!

Looking back I can see where I may have confused things a little by including the lines:

"'Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players.

'I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money"

Which maybe had nothing to do with the point of my comment, so omit that from my first comment and focus on the; “The day that this is football, I'm not in a job anymore” bit, which is what I my original comment was concerned with.

“The day that this is football, I'm not in a job anymore”

--------------------

Read the whole quote around that one line for context:

“I want a special team spirit – I don’t feel it is necessary, I want it. You can’t say at the end, 'Only 11 best players will play together and let’s see what happens.' The day that this is football, I’m not in a job anymore. Because the game is about playing together.

“That is why somebody invented passes — so these players can play together."

Like I said, he is talking about being out of a job if football is simply buying the best 11 players in the world to create a team, rather than buying 11 players to form the best team. His approach is to create the best team possible. if thats no longer what is successful, then he's out of a job.

Manfrombelmonty (U1705) is correct here - Klopp is clearly saying that there's no need for a manager if it just comes down to who can buy the most expensive players.

Still funny to read the quotes back though, given what has happened since.

But it’s not about the quote - it’s about the CONTEXT - hence the post that you deem ‘rambling’.

If you were to quote me saying ‘running people over is a great way to get money’ you could easily deem me a nutter.

However if the full quote was ‘If you need cash in GTA, running peopk over ........,’ then you can see how your original quote is taken out of context. The media do it all the time - especially, as people have tried to explain to you, in click bait articles!! 😊
