...why are we offering to develop a player we have just sold to another club? I thought Leeds had more self respect than that? this type of wheeling an dealing should be beneath us.
And shows that Leeds is still plagued with short termism, there is still no long term vision. The best way to go forward is to develop and promote our own players,as for every period of success Leeds had. To do that Rad need to keep hold of them properly, not sell them on the cheap and take them back on loan so another club can benefit in the future
Clarke sale/loan shows lack of self respect

Yeah, I think we’ve had around 110 loaners since relegation, I think the only one I really rated from all that, was Dougie Freedman.

Gradel was on loan initially.

Lasogga is now in Katar earning more than any off our players, so, don't think he's to bothered about what people say about him!..
3 year deal for just over 10m €'s, not a bad little earner!..

Bartley was a good loan too.
Sadly with the PL money and disparity between leagues, Championship clubs will be more and more dependent on loans. Let's say we wanted a good winger - have a look around the Championship at some players you think would be a good signing. Well Dan James has just gone for 15million, Clarke for 10million. So that pretty much prices us out of any permanent signings from other Championship clubs as they will all demand big fees as the going rate.
Then you look to the leagues below. Well even players like Roofe cost £3million these days and may take a couple of seasons to settle.
So loans are the best option.

Wasn’t Pontus a loan at first too?

Strange statement, talking about our top striker who could play in the Premier League and yet you seem to value him so lowly.
Never got the impression that Roofy has ever been fully appreciated by the ER crowd. That boy is good and we should start to show how much we value him.

Not talking about Roofe now. I rate Roofe highly.
My point is he was signed from League One after a good season and cost £3million so it's not like looking to lower leagues for players you can develop is cheap.
