The reasons for selling are simple - Leeds need to buy to sell. You can disagree and challenge why that's the case but it just is. Same for majority of clubs in this league.
I did find it strange he's straight back on loan, but if Bielsa wants him in the squad, this is a way to raise £10million without disrupting the first team or losing an impact player from the bench.

It's a great win/win situation for both clubs and the player too
Your article is a lack of self respect
Not sure how you expect things to be different.
Can’t suddenly change our financial plight.
If we had kept Clarke we wouldn’t be able to bring in any other players - no Harrison, mccarron or white or anybody else that may arrive.
You can’t make teams buy all the crap we have. In an ideal world we would sell saiz / ekuban / O’Kane / ideguchi etc and make the money but it does not work like that. It’s sad but true.
And in terms of him coming back on loan I don’t have a problem with that. It’s hopefully a free loan and he could be a useful asset in getting us up there again.
Would rather he be back at Leeds than see him help another champ side beat us.
I think Clarke deal is best we could hope fit in circumstances.
As long as Orta keeps blowing our money we’ll see more of these sorts of deals trying to keep us afloat.
Kebab, a lot sense there but there's no way the loan will be "free", we will incur a loan fee, increased wages and cost of training him.
If hope he kicks on this year and returns to the Jack Clarke we saw prior to and including the Derby game.
Costa loan fee is reported to be around 2 mill. We spent 5 mill on loanees last season, no reason to expect Clarke deal is any different.
It's quite frightening when you look at loans of last 2 seasons and try and find any success amongst them:
Pennington
Lasogga
Cameron Borthwick-Johnson
Blackman
Harrison
Brown
Baker

It will just have been factored into the ‘price’, as a negotiation tactic. You can argue we would have got a better price without the loan deal, but its hard to put a figure on that. It’s almost certainly less than if we’d had to pay out for a loan separately from them or for an equivalent player elsewhere.
I’m not too fussed either way, but if Bielsa wants him in the squad, the deal makes sense... if the sales funds help get others across the line.

Blackman got a serious injury, so hard to judge the guy, never really had a chance.
Harrison it appears MB wants back - so success, albeit limited.
The rest - yep fair point. Worst of the lot was Lasogga for me. You could see there was a good player, very good, he just didn't seem ar5ed most of the time. His missus was fit mind, that's maybe why he's always tired.!?!?!?!
Come on, the hit rate on those loanees is shocking and the best of the bunch, Harrison isn't all that.
We only sign them as we have no money.
Would be great if club could cull the dead wood, promote from within, make much better choices in signings and stop throwing money away on loanees, could transform our financial health.

Not sure where I've disagreed with you?
The 2 players I mentioned were exceptions, for the reason I've given.
Hit rate on loanees has been shocking for a number of years, it's not a recent development.
Yeah, I think we’ve had around 110 loaners since relegation, I think the only one I really rated from all that, was Dougie Freedman.
Lasogga scored 19 in 24 for Hamburg last season, badly coached when with us in my opinion. Just imagine what Bielsa could have done with him.
Sometimes it isn't the quality of the loanees but those managing them that's the issue.
but in the case of Baker and a few others, I agree, even the best coaches were/would have been irrelevant.

Erm, how about the reason is that he was a Leeds player, whom Spurs wanted, when the negotiation took place?

The second half of Lasogga's time at Leeds was hampered by serious knee issues which required painkilling injections for him to play.
Following stats are quite interesting:
Player -------------- Games --- Goals ---- Assists
Lasogga (17-18) ----- 31 --------- 10 --------- 3
Roofe (18-19) -------- 33 --------- 15 --------- 2
Bamford (18-19) ----- 23 ---------- 9 --------- 2

Pedrazza - 6/10 for us, done well since leaving
Barrow - Done well before and after playing for us
Kebe - Worst player I've seen play for Leeds

Not had much luck, injury wise, with our strikers in the last 18 months then ..... 😕😕
I think lasogga would be fine for a certain team in a certain formation. But can’t see him in a Bielsa team. Mobility wasn’t really his gig, prior to any knee injuries.

I was at his debut game (Burton) and he was energetic and all over the place. One swallow doesn't make a summer but training with Bielsa would likely enable a player like that to do it over an extended period.
