Uncle Usmanov.....

Has just paid £30m to have first option on bidding for the naming rights for Everton’s new ground.

Sure that’s all fair and legal

So that’s not even a payment for naming rights, just to be at the front of the que.

It used to be much harder than it is now. Just look at the turnaround in fortunes for clubs like Arsenal, United and even Chelsea. The past few seasons have shown that anyone with a forward-thinking chairman could reasonably expect to build a very competitive side.

30m to be spunked on someone like James Tomkins knowing Everton.

Who cares. We can pay £50m and loan him back to wherever he came from.

£110m losses.

No more big transfers for Everton

What losses.

Do you want to look at that again.

Oh, £30m to have first bid on naming of a stadium not even past planning application. Do you think these ‘losses’ bother anyone

£110m losses.

No more big transfers for Everton
----------------------------------------------------------------------
£110m plus about £22m reported in the previous financial year.

Usmanov's £30m cheque is just enough for the Everton beancounters to keep the total amount of reported losses below the £105m FFP threshold allowed over 3 consecutive seasons.

The most important thing is to avoid a transfer ban.

£30m just to have the first option to bid. Wonder what’s the next deal to go through.

£110m of losses. Everton must reign in their spending, or face points deduction.
