SSN have said that United and Borussia Dortmund are still in talks for him, We’re increasingly confident of getting the deal done.

Was reading today that he would prefer to join Liverpool, but that ain't happening. 🙂

May well be the case but again coming from questionable sources.

Feels a little bit like the media are trying to manufacture a 'race for Sancho' that I'm not sure really exists. Most respected journalists seem to think Utd are the only team in for him.

Not sure how much truth there is in this but I've heard our owners have implemented some sweeping wage cuts across the Boston Red Sox which have landed very badly and they're incredibly nervous about the reaction in the US of doing that whilst spending headline grabbing figures for the UK sports team. Personally I'm not expecting any spend even at the VVD/Alisson level never mind the Sancho level.

Reckon the Liverpool rumours are to ensure United pay the full 120m. Only way we will pay that much money is if we sell Salah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I Googled the rumours and all I could find was an article on the Express website claiming Kicker as the source. When I clicked into Kicker, I used my great translating skills(Google translate) and they said no such thing. Liverpool weren't even mentioned.

Doubts about Sancho change

Borussia Dortmund
Manchester United
Manchester United still has almost two weeks to raise a huge sum. If this does not succeed, there will be no change of Jadon Sanchos. So it is discussed between all involved.

On August 10th, the transfer window for Dortmund's Jadon Sancho closes.

There is no room for negotiations. According to kicker information, Manchester United has therefore made no attempt to make Borussia Dortmund palatable below the 100 million euro barrier. According to sports director Michael Zorc, this is a "pure media topic". For the third in the table of the Premier League, the cards are on the table: he knows the price. Either he scrapes up 120 million euros - or he has to do without Jadon Sancho.

As early as 2016, at that time because of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, BVB managing directors Hans-Joachim Watzke and Ed Woodward, CEO of Manchester United, were sitting together at the negotiating table. The two bosses know and appreciate each other as common members of the Executive Board of the ECA (European Club Association).

Biting mockery for Manchester United on the island
Four years ago, Watzke only agreed to transfer Mkhitaryans when the English agreed to a transfer fee of more than 42 million euros. Record for a player whose contract at that time only had a remaining term of one year. Since then, the club on the island has had to put up with biting mockery: In the end, United always pays what is required.

Industry experts are now expressing skepticism as to whether this rule also applies in the "Sancho case" and Woodward is actually putting everything on one card, while throughout Europe a careful risk assessment is being carried out due to Corona and mega-transfers for fear of massive revenue losses be avoided in the coming season. In Dortmund there are doubts that Sancho's change will come about.

A decision must be made before the start of the training camp in Bad Ragaz / Switzerland (August 10), then the transfer window for BVB's top scorer closes (20 goals and 20 assists across the competition last season). There are no fears that Sancho could provoke his departure like Ousmane Dembelé (FC Barcelona, 2017) or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal FC, 2018) before Borussia. The rumor persists anyway that the 20-year-old would rather move to Liverpool than to Manchester because of the greater title chances.

Oh, it looks like they did fire a baseless sentence into th end.

There's talk of the Glazers not willing to meet Dortmund's asking price of 120m Euro as they believe that they're bidding in a one horse race. Therefore aim to get the deal done at a lower price.

But that 10th August will be the deadline day as they wish to have the matter sorted prior to the start of their Swiss trip preseason.

Exactly.

That fraud Miguel Delaney tried to do the same a few weeks back.

Created a super exclusive article stating that Liverpool could be in for Sancho but only if they can afford him and may have to sell Mane or Salah

Non-story.

Dont understand what the redsox have to do with it, everything we've spent has come from the club, not like they hand us wads of cash from elsewhere

It’s just public perception. Enforcing unpopular wage cuts in one team whilst spending huge amounts on another might look bad. The reality of who earns what matters little to public opinion and press coverage.

It’s just what I read anyway. It’s not necessarily true and if we go out and spend big then it was obviously rubbish.
