Spurs go into tonight`s game at Liverpool

still top of the table, and worse ways will only be three points of the top when the first half of the so called biggie matches against United, City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal is concluded this evening. Throw in Southampton and another couple of London Derbies, and Spurs have had a cracking first third of the season. Spurs will already have played Chelsea, United and Liverpool away, usually Spurs most difficult away games done and dusted this side of Christmas.

Still not getting much respect from the media, but hey ho that is to be expected. You can bet your life if Spurs do lose tonight, the usual nonsense will be peddled by the media against Spurs. Let`s be fair they have been hovering and waiting for ages now to have a pop. Spurs though keep compounding them though.

Looking further forward, well the rest of the season`s fixtures in reality Spurs play Liverpool again in January, then Chelsea and Man City again before mid February, so will only have Arsenal away and United at home in the last 14 games, and none in their last seven games, traditionally when Spurs tend not to do so well. So if Spurs are there or thereabouts mid February, then they have every chance of taking the Prem this season. The fixtures have fallen quite well for Spurs this season. Playing all the biggies together, means they also play lots of lesser sides together as well. Although no results are a gimmee, Spurs should be winning most of their home games this season from hereonin, and picking up plenty of away wins.

Just a question of Spurs holding their nerve, whilst all others around them are floundering. Since Spurs drew at Palace, City, Chelsea and Liverpool have all dropped points in games they were expected to win. So a decent couple of days really

I will not be making a prediction on tonight`s game, to tight to call, but it is afterall just another three points, and another biggie ticked off. Nothing will be decided on tonight`s game. It will be just one of 38 games that Spurs have to negotiate to win the title this season. Let`s see how it pans out, it`s not a cup tie, so even a loss will not be terminal. A draw or a win would be great, but neither are essential. Very relaxed about tonight.

I thought we were unlucky not to pick up a point against them last season at our place.

Seem to remember Son missing a glorious chance.

I was quietly confident about this game until today - I'm now thinking we'll lost

I think we're not great with speed and directness - especially cute balls in and around our box.

I worry about Mane and Salah.

Yes, I was at that game, Liverpool were very fortunate to win, despite Spurs having a reserve side out.

I love how when ever Spurs do well in the league, you get rival fans always come out with “well, the other big sides are not at their best “. Spurs have been challenging the top teams in and around the top 4 pretty much every season for the last 6 years, so it’s absolutely nothing to do with the other sides not being great. If Spurs win the league, it’s because all that hard work over this last 7 years where we come so close to winning the CL and the league will have finally paid off. If city are playing s**, that’s their f*** problem. They have spent enough money to win league titles every season, so don’t give me that bulls** that the only reason Spurs are in this position is because City and Co are poorsuch a weak argument and laughable
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But it’s undoubtedly true that the prominent teams have been underperforming.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last season, Chelsea, United, CIty and Spurs didn't play well either so shall we say LIverpool only won it because of this?
It would be fair to compare because none of the top sides performed either - bar Liverpool
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly. Seems the other teams ain’t performing well when it’s fits the agenda of others. Liverpool smashed the league last season and that was because every other team played terribly all season. Can say exactly same thing for you guys then? You can’t just pick and choose when to give credit. Face is, City have spent untold money on their squad. If they are s**, then that’s their and Pep Guardiola’s issue. They have no excuse. If Spurs win the league, it’s because we would of been the best team in the division, simple as that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nobody’s picking and choosing. Teams clearly underperformed last year. But Liverpool still broke records and marched away.

It was a Spurs fan that made the remark about rival fans saying Spurs are only top because others have slumped. I think it’s kinda true. It’s hard to dispute it.

Liverpool dominated for about 75 minutes. At 1-0 you were always in the game but let’s stop with this rewriting of history.

Why was Ndombele not ever on the pitch?
If you only have 24% possession, you want someone who can keep the ball, FGS

And it is now ever more obvious we need someone powerful at CB, Upamecano! Levy get your shekels out.
Sell Lomela, sell Alli, and get that guy.
