Spurs go into tonight`s game at Liverpool

I’d say Spurs are performing at the top of their game - or near enough.

Liverpool are playing at around 50% of their usual level yet remain joint top. Bodes well for the run in - especially once Thiago is fit and playing regularly.

Spurs are playing well within themselves, they have several levels to go up yet. Watching Liverpool on Sunday they were pretty well flat out to get a point at Fulham. Not sure they have that much more to offer, than what we are already seeing. Draws at Ludogrets and Fulham are a bit of a pointer of the way forward. Away form for Liverpool is also very poor, only the home form in reality is keeping them so high in the table.

Liverpool have been ravaged by injuries, apparently.

Yet only VDV, the only regular starter, is out.

Spurs are playing at their peak. Jose has gotten Spurs beyond what Pochettino could have. Win this game, and Spurs might have the belief to think they can win the title. And with a manager that has won something, they might win something.

Sandy "not making a prediction" ?? .....
what on earth is the world coming to?
Yes, I agree ..... it would take a brave man to say how this game will turn out!

But ..."nothing will be decided".....that I do not agree with.
Do you really want to lose and then have to play catch up for the rest of the season?
We've already dropped two point to CP.
No more point dropping,..I say this is a must win game.
Lets put some more belief in the team,
lets give Kloppity Klopp something to mull over.

City look like they can't be bothered anymore. Liverpool struggled to get a point to Fulham and we battered them both. Chelsea simply aren't all that. We've only come across 2 teams this season that have whooped us on the night. Leeds, who were still on a high and are now sinking and Southampton. We didn't start playing until the 80th minute and we almost drew that. Arsenal are nothing in this league. Utd have no character. Leicester are decent.

In a bizarre way it's the best most entertaining league in living memory.

Spurs are not playing anywhere near their peak, but they are still top, having played nearly all the big teams once already. It doesn`t bode well for the rest of the division, that Spurs still have lots to offer.

Theyre at their peak right now. If Spurs don't beat Liverpool, they'll start declining. This is do or die moment. Liverpool are there for the taking. Spurs played the other top sides at a good time. Chelsea, United and City have been poor this season and yet Spurs aren't out of sight of them. This could be the season Spurs do a Leicester.

I have a feeling that some folks look at the premier league table and declare Spurs are playing to their peak, having not watched us week-in/out!
Yet, this team still has to play Dele and Bale from the start We also have Vinicius to get the pace of the premier league and gets blended in for the PL game.
A lot to come from Spurs. Bale will be critical for the second half of the season, when he'll be back to full fitness and can last 90 minutes. Also Lo Celso and Ndombele are sharing a game right now, because Lo Ceslo missed pre-season and Ndom is getting his fitness back. Once they both can last 90mins with high intensity, they'll play together and I think we will make more chances once that happens.
A lot to come from this team and the plan was always stay in touch with the top for the first half of the season, and go all out in the second half

But then throw in EL knock out games progression in the Carabou and FAC and still go all out 2nd half of the season??

Absolutely. The pundits and opposition supporters are all falling into the same trap, that Spurs have peaked. When I look across the division, Spurs to me are the team that still have lots to offer. I don`t see that from any other team right now.

Now was supposed to be the time that Spurs had slipped back to mid table, instead they are leading the pack.

Yes, and that's why Spurs have a big squad. From Spurs journos, I get the bit of info, and the general consensus I get is that Bale is being readied up for the business end.

Tanganga, Dele, Lamela, Winks, Bale and Vinicous will play a big part in the 2nd half of the season I'm sure. We have the squad to compete on all fronts IMO

I will make no prediction as I said on this evenings game. But I will make a prediction on the more important return match against Liverpool in February and that Spurs will win that match.

I love how when ever Spurs do well in the league, you get rival fans always come out with “well, the other big sides are not at their best “. Spurs have been challenging the top teams in and around the top 4 pretty much every season for the last 6 years, so it’s absolutely nothing to do with the other sides not being great. If Spurs win the league, it’s because all that hard work over this last 7 years where we come so close to winning the CL and the league will have finally paid off. If city are playing s**, that’s their f*** problem. They have spent enough money to win league titles every season, so don’t give me that bulls** that the only reason Spurs are in this position is because City and Co are poor such a weak argument and laughable

some cant get over the fact Tottenham are a massive club. Blinded and obsessed by the lack of trophy success around the club.

Couldn’t agree more mate. Yes I know we haven’t won trophies in a long time and if anyone is frustrated with that, it’s us Spurs fans, but Spurs have been in with the big boys for years now. Us doing well and being title challengers is because we’re a bloody good team and a big club. People can’t accept that.

So when was the last time a clash between 1st and 2nd was not on Sky or BT Sport ?

Can remember the TV hype leading up to the Liverpool / City games last couple of years, but this, presumably because one of them is Spurs, is on Amazon Prime.

Pi*s poor and typical money grab.

But Liverpool's injuries don't count?

Funny lot. Wish you would apply the same logic to your rivals. Utopia.

Guys, you need to realise that opposition will always wum even when they are saying congrats
Definitely there is a dig at us when we hear Spurs are playing well, and should do well, while Liverpool are performing to 50% of their capacity or City aren't playing or United are doing well

They can't give Spurs credit even after being in top 4 for long now, more than most except City.

I know we will turn up tonight. We don't hide in big games and we won't be fazed at all. Kane, Son and PEH relish the big games.

I used to think that it was us the fans felt like there is an agenda against achievements by Spurs not to sing our praises too highly by the media. Then I heard a Spurs journo say the same. He was dumfounded when we beat United with the reaction of the media who instead of lavishing praise on an amazing performance of the week away from home at the home of United, the media were busy writing stuff about Ole, United and Ed
So there is an agenda but I do think it's a commercial one

I don't mind prime...The stream quality seems to be better than BT's for me

It is also a mark of the magnitude of the achievement for us that this game was deemed very lucrative and subsequently, Amazon purchased the rights to it on the basis to make in-roads into the streaming of football games market. A very lucrative market in the far east.
