I’m sure people have seen the news that there has been YET ANOTHER sickening instance of racial abuse on social media, this time at Rashford after the Arsenal game. For me, enough is enough and it’s time that players went on strike until something is done about this. I would say the same by the way if this was a City, Liverpool, Spurs or any team’s player.
The football clubs, police, social media sites and Premier League aren’t doing enough to get on top of this. All they care about is money, not when a player is racially abused online by some attention seeking c*nt. If the players all united as one and refused to take the field then this would soon stop.
Football must unite against racism and stop until it’s wiped out. There’s far too much of a dismissive approach to this type of abuse by the powers that be, now the players have to seize the power for themselves to show they won’t accept it anymore.
NO TO RACISM.

We are not privy to the mental health of those we interact with online, nothing wrong with being kind even to those you might initially feel do not deserve it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you would like to think that the last 12 months, all the sh!t that has gone on, and the widely reported impact on the mental health of everyone, would have changed the way people interact on here and online in general.
people will post a "this lockdown is really getting to me" article, and receive plenty of positive/helpful/encouraging comments. yet the next article will just be the standard "why don't you f@ck off an die" witty banter.
funny place, this internet.

Social media is absolute garbage and is inhabited by toilet people. I have zero interest in it whatsoever, but I wouldn’t want to see the world stop because of online trolls.

Unite how exactly?
They'll hide behind VPNs and just make new accounts if banned.
What next? Using you actual identity to join social media? You'd trust data harvesters like Facebook with your IDs? Not a chance.
This stuff has always happened. It's being highlighted more in an attempt to squash it out. Noble but there is no simple solution.

If you don't trust companies like Twitter, Instagram or Facebook with your IDs, then don't make an account. No platform to post racist crap.
Problem solved.

I despise Facebook and Twitter. Mostly the domain of vapid eejits. They do have its uses but I reckon the world would be a far better place without them.

I don't really understand the whole 'i don't trust these companies' ordeal anyway.
People post their lives on Facebook.
Upload pictures of their kids, families, wives, husband's, etc etc etc yet they won't prove identity with a passport or driving licence etc, doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Exactly. And ‘checking in’ places on Facebook, so they could be tracked. Just embarrassing
