Are Celtic fans the most disloyal fans in football? Let's take a moment to reflect on this question shall we.
It wasn't too long ago that Celtic fans would tell all and sundry that they were TGFITW. It was a source of pride to them (and bemusement to others) and they would repeat this claim over and over again
But it's not true is it?
Look at this season. After 9 years of utter domination, the first sign of trouble has had illegal protests and displays of disloyalty against their coach (formerly beloved, now detested) that shock normal, loyal supporters of other clubs. The sheer animosity directed at their club because they've had a few bad results is incredible and immediately became personal attacks on Lennon, Lawwell and others, and we're currently seeing a concerted attempt by influential fangroups to "flush" Lennon out. Is that any way to treat a man who has given so much to this club?
But take a step back from this season and this is just the continuation of the trend that has existed for many years. Let's go back to Mowbray, where a few bad results saw their crowds drop to a third of what they had previously been when they were winning, with crowds dropping below 20,000. It's a cycle that continues with the Celtic fans - if they're not winning, they don't turn up, and this has always been the case. Is that any kind of loyalty to their team? No, of course it isn't.
Now of course we're hearing threats and tantrums of not buying season tickets, withholding money from the club at a time of unparalleled financial challenges for football teams up and down the country. Again, this isn't the first time that this idea has been touted by the Celtic fans when the going has got tough.
Then we have the matter of their new signing. The poor guy gets his move and what is he met with? A stream of images against their coach, a hijacking of his moment to indulge their selfish strops. Shame, shame, shame.
It seems to me that Celtic fans are only TGFITW when they're winning. When they're not winning.....well, the story changes, doesn't it?

It's pretty simple, we can see mediocrity setting in throughout the club and acting now to ensure it's addressed.
Other clubs let it set in far too deep before taking action.
