Something that has crossed my mind over the last few weeks is the lack of playing time Brandon Williams is getting under Ole this season.
He refused to let him go on loan in January (Southampton were interested) as he was needed as cover at RB. However, Ole has been very reluctant to rest and rotate AWB and give Williams a chance there. TFM was favoured beforehand (no idea why).
Does anybody have any idea why this may be? Do you reckon Williams just isn't up to the standard for us? I don't think he has done much wrong when he has played.
There is also speculation that we may be after a Telles-style RB signing in the summer, which would leave Williams' position in the squad in doubt.

One of the best young left or right backs (I forget which) in the world for me at the moment, if he stays. Wildly overrated and not even League 2 level, if he leaves. I have never seen him play.

Also... what happens with Dalot in the summer? Not seen him in Italy but I gather he’s played a bit and not done too bad. Are we expecting he’ll be sold or could he come back and contribute?

I think he will be sold. From what I gather he has played consistently in the Ropey but he has only appeared in 7 league games I think. I've heard Milan might be interested in making it permanent.

Williams, sadly, hasn’t made any progress since the first few games he has played for us.
He isn’t playing that well in the U23’s in the games I have seen. Bit the. None of that defence look any good.
The reason why he hasn’t gone out on loan is because he is cover for AWB for long term injury.

He’s only played for them twice so far this season hasn’t he? In the six goal drubbing of the dippers and the draw against City.
He was relatively quiet against Liverpool, but I thought he had a decent second half, going forward in particular, against City.
Bear in mind he’s hardly had any football, and he hasn’t trained with the U23s all season, which doesn’t make it very easy to just drop into the side.
Would probably have been better going out on loan this season.

Apparently we’re showing interest in Max Aarons too but reckon he’s Bayern bound.
Hopefully Williams gets a run out on Thursday.

Well, that’s all we have at present. We should have a specialist RB in the squad to compete with AWB, which Brandon is not.
