Great, another summer saga of this penny pinching to live through again.

Raphinha Is also South American which is obviously an issue. If we’d just bought Sancho when he was still at City we wouldn’t have the problems that come from getting a player from the bundesliga.

Valid points all round

The passive aggression in you two 😂

Still upset all these years on about being wrong about Fatboy Anderson I see.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You're confusing me with someone else. I was always in the Darren Gibson camp.

I can't believe people are taking about this with such conviction given its all based on speculation and rumour.

All we know is we made enquiries 2 seasons ago, and last season Dortmund told the world they wouldnt sell the player to anyone (wasn't specific to United) beyond a set deadline.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also know that they have confirmed that they had a gentlemen's agreement with Sancho. He is up for grabs this summer. Whether we reach and agreement with them remains to be seen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Have they confirmed this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Did they announce it via their website or was it a press conference ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Press conference or interview I presume.

I think you will find its nothing more than unsubstantiated speculation.

I think you will find its direct quotes from Zorc reported by numerous outlets about a month back. He said they had a gentlemen agreement from last summer that Sancho can leave this summer if certain conditions are met. But that there is no such agreement with Haaland.

In fact, I think he actually said that he could have left last summer, but that ultimately the conditions were not met. Which means we didn't bid enough.

Or didnt bid / bid too late.

As for a gentlemens agreement, how is this any different to any other deal. We will sell if they bid enough.

They have said in the past we didn't bid enough and thoght we could wait and they would change their mind. And the agreement shows that they are open to him moving. Unlike Haaland

They haven't said we didn't bid enough.

The requirements were not met could mean a number of things.

No bid, late bid, spread of payments unacceptable, refusal to include players.

From what Watkze and Zorc have said, I think it is both that we didn't bid enough/didn't bid enough in time.

It does seem that they set a deadline for that transfer and we tried to continue negotiations after that deadline.
