Breaking news re Pogba

According to Skysports, we are negotiating a new contract with him.

To be honest I’m in two minds on this one. He’s clearly very talented but for 89 million he hasn’t shown up enough.

I do feel United have let him down at times but also he’s let United down enough times.

I'm also in two minds about Pogba. I've always thought he was good enough to be a top player for us, but at Christmas I was ready to say we should cut our losses. Since then, there have been just enough glimpses for me to say that I want to keep him - he's a match-winner on his day and can be at home in any top midfield.

However, I do agree with SE85 that Bruno has, to an extent, given us what we should have been able to expect of Pogba - a kind of talismanic figure who will still grab a goal or assist even when he isn't playing well, and who could easily be made permanent captain (from what I can see). And I also think there's a limit at which any wage demands should just be refused.

But overall I rate him enough to say I'd rather keep him than sell him right now.

wish his agent would stop flapping his gums, spends far too much time wh()ring him out to all and sundry:

"The truth is we don't know (what will happen). There are many clubs (interested)...

"But he could stay. He could stay as well so it's a conversation the club will have with Paul and ourselves then we'll see where we go."

It's a huge pain the backside we just don't need. If he was performing consistently like we know or thought he was capable of then the agent noise wouldn't be so bad. However when he's up and down performance wise the agent noise and the noise from his brother too is just a distraction we don't need.

I honestly don't think we'd miss him that much. We've finished 6th and 5th with him playing full seasons for us. He's not as Influential on us as he thinks he is.

On form I'd say he isn't worth his current wage let alone an increase. If Pogba and his agent are looking at an extension it's because they know Barca/Madrid etc wouldn't even match his current salary, let alone increase it.

And so they should be.

And they should bend over in every direction to keep him.

Funny how a world cup winner like Pogba wants to sign a new contract to be coached by a P.E teacher isn't it??
