So who will be the next manager?

With the wheels starting to come off on the Conte reign at an alarming rate, only a matter of time before he walks or is sacked. Not been a great few months if the truth be told. Results have been in the main very poor for a while now, and he doesn`t seem able to turn things around. The odd result, like at the weekend, should not mask the task in front of any manager who takes over the reigns from Conte.

So where do Spurs go from here? Haven`t a clue really who could/would come in. Spurs go through managers left, right and centre and nothing ever changes. I have always maintained, you can change ENIC, change managers, but nothing will ever change until you change the players. The squad is currently littered with so many below par, championship level players. Only quality players in reality are Lloris (most of the time), Kane, all of the time, and Son (occasionally). All of the rest of the squad are of a 3 or 4/10 standard.

May as well give the better players a rest at the weekend, and save them for the cup tie at Middlesborough, not that Spurs will win the FA Cup, but at least keep the season going for a few weeks longer.

After last night, very doubtful there will be any European football next season. After a disastrous run of four defeats in five games, against those heavyweight sides like Wolves, Southampton and now Burnley, not looking good.

I shall as always give my support to the club, but have long ago written this season off, and see where we are at the beginning of next season.

PS Nuno must be laughing his bollox off at what has happened since he was sacked. He acted with honour, never complained, and has said nothing since he left. A very honourable man.

Get potter, give him a 4 year deal and plan and back him properly.

However patience will be required

Why don’t we ever buy tall, technical & dominant centre halves anymore?

The amount of goals that we concede from crosses is disgraceful
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Name 3 that Spurs could afford who would want to come.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I cant even think of any apart from van dijk
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. C&D basically asking "Why don't we ever buy perfect CBs any more" and the answer is plainly "They're all at bigger clubs already."

If Conte does go and it ends in disaster then Levy HAS to let Paratici go too. He's not only fecked up with every transfer so far bar Romero (who, as serie A top defender, was no gamble anyway), but he's also given us two managers that don't fit the club profile and very nearly a third in Gattuso who's a bloody lunatic.

We need a complete clear out and proper plan going forward. No more plucking big names out of the air. We need to decide who we are and what we represent and then get a manager in that best fits that philosophy. It's not rocket science. God, this fecking club.

I won't stop watching us and I'll always support us but I'm finding increasingly that I'm becoming numb to both goals scored and goals against us. If we score in a game, who cares? Does it really mean we've turned a a corner. Of course not. Win one game, lose the next three. Then there's goals against. I feel nothing. Just inevitability and a vague eye-roll. Nothing more. I've kind of stopped caring.Until the club makes a concerted effort to show direction, ambition and a will to succeed, I don't see why I should give them a moment's thought.

An absolute assssssshole of a club.

OMG, so much media driven trip being bought into by so called fans.

God, some of you are fools.

Conte has been at Spurs for a very short period of time. He basically has the same dross to work with, including Kane after he had been got at by City and the media, yet some of you on here expect him to, some how, work a miracle and suddenly become a genuine 'top 4' team literally overnight.

Just how do you think that can be done in such a short space of time ?

History tells us that virtually every top or successful manager needs to be given time and backed by fans as well as the club. Examples ? well try Ferguson, Pep and Klopp for a start. All of which needed several seasons to build a winning team.

Yet some Spurs fans seem to think Spurs, with virtually no history of "winning" in the last 70 years, are expected to suddenly become 'great' simply because Conte has arrived.

Again I ask, how on earth do you think he will achieve this with the same average players his predecessors had to work with ?

That facts are that Spurs DID have a reasonably good set of players between 2015 and 2018, but Levy aloud this squad to stagnate. How is that on Conte ?

Personally, yes I get as frustrated as the rest of you when performances like last night come along, but am realistic enough to realise that the City games are few and far apart, and most importantly understand that a decent squad of players takes time to build, all of which needs to be done WITH the support of the manager. This could take 3 years, yet some on here expect it to happen in a couple of months AND with the same dross we had before Conte took over.

Some on here really do need to start thinking with their heads, not their hearts.

This has to go down as one of the most moronic posts I've ever seen on here.

No one is criticising Conte. We're all behind him. We don't expect miracles in 4 months but the worry is that he leaves. This is not about him being sacked at all. It's about the fact that we've got a manager in who needs to be backed financially in order to turn the club around.

Through indecision, lack of funds and penny pinching we've missed out on Luis Diaz, Traore and Vlahovic when there was a time these deals could have got over the line. Those are just three examples. We've let go of four creative players and signed two, one on loan and the other at around £20m. We are weaker than we were at the start of January. Conte even said it himself.

There were opportunities this January to back Conte in order to push for a top four finish but we didn't. It stands to reason that it'll be the same this summer, particularly if we don't, as expected, qualify for the CL.

Our criticisms are not with Conte but with a hierarchy that felt it was a good idea to hire him without the financial clout to back him. If we can't spend money then we should be getting a manager in well suited to coaching on a budget, as Poch was.

This is on Levy and Lewis so don't throw accusations at us like you're some all seeing eye of patience.

Totally agree mate. Some people literally have no clue why some are pi** off. Nobody expects Conte to win the league or anything like that, but when you appoint Conte, you make sure you back him. You don’t get rid of 4 players and draft in only 2. Conveniently since the Jan transfer window, our form has taken a nosedive. The issue has always been with Levy and ENIC, nobody else

I think the last few appointments since Poch has shown one thing- it doesn’t really matter who the next manager is. If this squad continues it will be the same old shiiiiiit game after game, season after season.
For any real change at spurs we need new owners and a revamped squad. Simple as that.
