Looking Ahead

Firstly, I may be jumping the gun here but working on the basis that PL survival is somewhere between just under or at worse a point a game and that those most precious of commodities confidence and belief are returning, I think we can begin to think about what we need to do in the summer to ensure we avoid a season like this again.

Do we cash in on Raphina - (I believe hes going anyway?)

Do we cash in on Kalvin - (Please No)

Do we stick with Jesse and give exactly what he wants in terms of player intake?

Who do we move on? - this is a tough one as some players such Klich and Forshaw have given everything and more but will they take us to the next level?

How do we get an assemblance of a decent non porous defence? - do we cut losses and again move some players on? ( With the Leeds High pressing Game can we get better defensively?)

Midfield vulnerability has always troubled me but Jesse seems to have tightened that up albiet at the expense of exposure on the wings.

Do we give youth a chance - I thought Cresswell did not look out of place and Joffy ... well

Rodrigo - Is he finally coming good ?

How do we get the very best out of James?

Lets be clear, I haven't got a clue what the answer is but I know a few on here will have some pretty incisive thoughts and some original ideas which will be very interesting to digest.

Over to you Lads and Lasses as we have 2 weeks until our "Journey with Jesse' continues.

Without a doubt it's in our hands, points on the board count for so much.

Looking ahead - yep, Southampton at home. It'll be a tough game, but as mentioned earlier they won't be looking at it quite so relaxed as they did a few weeks ago.

Raph will go in the summer I suspect - just hope we can get plenty for him - and i hope he goes abroad, don't want him lining up against us anytime soon.

saints really have nothing to play for, we will take all 3pts

Southampton are on a bad run, but also very unpredictable.
A win would be massive, given that the other teams around us have very difficult games that weekend.

I don't really see the need to sell anyone. Okay, Raph might go for a big fee, but why sell Forshaw, Klich, Roberts etc, when we have had a small squad exposed this year? Whats the point in trimming further? Especially given that March likes a squad big enough to allow him to rotate. We won't earn significant fees for these players, and their wages won't be astronomical. I see no benefit to selling, unless they want to go.

If we go down then the club will sell one or two players and keep the core of the squad. If we stay up the club will sell one or two players and keep the core of the squad. Just a matter od which league that happens in.

.........sell him, we are just a shop window for him, yes he's a great asset but we need strength in dept he is a luxury for us

The Barcelona link is gathering momentum.

Lubo - good point about the wages of the
existing squad.

Th issue with Raph is not as clear cut as it seems. He is a fantastic player, no doubt, but he is not, in my view, a 60 or 70 million player. This is nothing to do with his ability, more about his mentality. He is not an inspiring player, a leader or a driver. When the chips are down, his shoulders drop. For 70 million, you want a De Paul, or a Rice or a Son. Raph just isn't up there yet, but in the right environment, who knows?
