First of all let me even up your star rating, the 1* bandit is at large. Utter idiot. My guess is he hails from across the Irish Sea.

I think the long lay off for Phillips actually could work to our advantage.

the guy is on a long deal and we dont need to sell if we stay up, add to that the "English Premium" and his value is high for a player who has been injured for a huge part of this season.

Think that makes it less likely someone pays a massive fee for him with that level of risk

According to the Sunday Times Aston Villa are favourites to sign Kalvin for 60million should we sell. Why on earth he would ever want to go there is beyond me but that is what they are reporting.
Certainly interesting times ahead whether we stay up.or not and big decisions will have to be made on many of our younger players.

Rapha has gone, of that I am sure. He hasn't signed an extension which indicates that he is gone on day 1 of the window. Hope we cash in on what his true worth value is rather than the rate he will command if we go down. The release clause in his contract really irritates me.
I think KP wants to play his whole career with a successful Leeds but I can see a reason to sell him, we are a very unbalanced team and if we sell and invest his and Rapha's money to balance things, to improve the squad in general I have no problem with that.
I have no idea what Jesse wants, he seems happy with the squad but that may just be the American in him.
Klich, Dallas, Ayling, Cooper, Rod are all in their 30's we have ageing squad, I don't think any of them will move on but we need to start getting more out of the kids. I believe that a couple of the established pros should be moved on. Roberts needs to move on, he's just not good enough but I reckon Llorente will go as well. Not so sure about Koch. I think there's a much better player than we have seen to date.
Of the kids, I had high hopes for Sam Greenwood but he seems to have not flourished, if Marsch can turn that around he will have done well.
Cody Drameh is thriving at Cardiff apparently and much as I love Bill, we need to start getting him playing. Cresswell looks the real deal as does Joffy. Bate and Summerille also look prospects.
It wouldn't surprise me if we see Illan on the move over the summer.
I worry about Rod his consistency and his age, if you remember, this time last year, we were asking whether he had finally started coming good.
I am not convinced James will ever be the player we wanted to sign three years ago.

Els - that's one point I meant to detail, the conundrum with Bill. He is starting to look immense again and I read he's contract runs out next year - how many years do we offer him or do we need to be ruthless?

posted on 20/3/22

I think Raph is already "gone" in his head.

KP, hopefully will stay on better terms.

We need to reinvest in someone who is a Hernandez replacement (something I think we've missed) who can unlock a defence with his creativity. Arsenal have found Odegaard - I'd like us to be looking at that level of player if we can find one.

Ayling was really good on Friday, he has filled Cooper's shoes well as captain and he epitomises what it means to play for Leeds. You cannot get away from the fact that him Dallas and Coops are all ageing. Nobody goes on forever and we need to plan for the future.
Don't replace Rapha but play Summerville ahead of Drameh, Offload Llorente and have Cresswell, Struijk, Cooper and Koch as CB's
I think you have to have a pathway for the kids to come through.
I don't know what they do with Ayling because Drameh has far more potential.

If Aaronson was an Orta player, we'll be back in for him.

I'd also go back in for Gallagher as a true signing not loan. He looks likely to ask for a transfer. Then we need
another striker. Someone with a track record of being
fit and available.

If the club don’t spend, then yes, we have to sell Raphinha and Phillips…maybe we get £120m.

We have quite a few of the old guard just north of 30 now…Cooper, Ayling, Dallas, Forshaw, Klich and Rodrigo…not exactly passed it, but good squad players to add some quality to.

Need another out and out striker…having our talisman out most of the season needs addressing.

Batty - I'm a fan of Conor Gallagher but would he go North?

Another point I missed Steross, just how evident the absence of Paddy has been and the importance of his style of play within out current framework.

I think bamfords absence has been the main reason for us being anywhere near the relegation battle and has to be seriously addressed. Can we really take a chance going into a new season with the hope of him actually leading the line.
I love paddy and have always thought he was our most important player but it might be time to spend big for a striker. Use the raph money.

I hope we don't make the Pabs/Alioski/Berra mistake
again. As in, clearing out players such as Klich due to
age. Under JM, Klich has looked very good. Add to
what we have. Not replace. Outside of Raph do we
need to sell to improve the team? Hope not.

Aaronson played for marsch at Salzburg. I think we can probably join the dots on who’s player he was. Similar Duracell bunny type player to Gallagher, with a bit more pace.

As fun as such ‘what happens next’ speculation is, think I’d rather wait until I’m comfortable we’re safe before indulging too much

Despite me raising the O/P and my opening qualifier, I do have similiar nervousness but having said that I'm trying to take Jesses 'Thrive not Survive' sentiment on board.

For instance a week ago those at St Marys pre Norwich fixture would probably be treating their up and coming visit as a Turkey shoot - not now.

Yes we were wobbly at times on Friday night but the last half hour was almost a mini renaisance.

I have to remain positive and do believe we have made a major stride in turning a corner and if we do fail from this point we will ( as a club) only have ourselves to blame.

I think I heard JM say he likes a bigger squad. Think Raph will go but think we'd be daft to sell KP to someone like Villa. Hope Drameh wants to come back and play for us. Sounds like he's been a revelation at Cardiff. Are we obliged to sell Davis to Bournemouth, think he'd be a decent lb to have?

A back up striker is a must. Probably need a winger to replace Raph. A midfielder too.

Rev, JM's having an affect on the team. It's undeniable.
I'm always in the camp of give Leeds coaches/owners/
players a chance until they show you they're not worth
our support. I hope (I think we all do) JM is the answer.

Good result Brentford losing today. It means we have a game in hand and are just a point behind them.

It’s now in our hands to stay up.

Without a doubt it's in our hands, points on the board count for so much.

Looking ahead - yep, Southampton at home. It'll be a tough game, but as mentioned earlier they won't be looking at it quite so relaxed as they did a few weeks ago.

Raph will go in the summer I suspect - just hope we can get plenty for him - and i hope he goes abroad, don't want him lining up against us anytime soon.
