Realistic Transfer Targets

With reports that our transfer budget will be 100 - 150m plus sales, and the need to replace at least 5 players out of contract (Cavani, Mata, Matic, Lingard, Pogba) plus those that just aren't good enough, we might need to get creative with our transfer targets.

Some suggestions below. Feel free to add your own.

RB: Matty Cash. 3 goals and 3 assists this season. Fairly pacey, has a good cross on him. Market value 20m.

CB: Manuel Akanji. Entering the final year of his contract. Market value 27m.

Alternatively, James Tarkowski and Andreas Christensen are both available on a free transfer.

DM: Boubacar Kamara. Available on a free transfer.

CM/AM: Christian Eriksen. Available on a free transfer.

RW: Antony. Market value 33m. (likely to cost much higher).

ST: Jonathan David. Market value 46m.

If we could get all of these players for market value, it would be an outlay of 126m. In reality, it's closer to 200m. Not bad for 6 players.

Given the number of things we need to accomplish, I'd be inclined to think in terms of right back *OR* right wing. Upgrade in one of those spots and at least we have more attacking penetration on the right. With coaching Dalot might just go beyond his current "looking more adequate" status. Maybe Brandon Williams could surprise us.

I really think we need a modern goalkeeper too as a priority, unless Henderson finally gets his chance.

Bruno as the 'nominal' RW? In the Mata role where he can drift inside? That would mean we'd need a RB who can take advantage of that space though I suppose.

GK, CB, DM/CM x 2, RB, CF, RW

7 players... We won't do that much business despite how badly we need to

I expect we'll do cb, cm, cf.... And 1 other

Nowhere near enough

I think expecting 7 new starters in one summer is way too optimistic anyway. This is the start of another rebuild. ETH is going to have to use players next season that perhaps won't be here next year.

He's innocent, didn't you hear? RDD has inside knowledge into the case.

I'm hoping Rashford can rediscover his form and be more than capable for us on the left. I really hope EtH coming in can reinvigorate him and get him enjoying himself again.

I agree... Its why we'll continue to struggle too

To be fair, Sancho might end up on the RW under Ten Hag, but in that case we need a LW. Also, last summer I guess the club couldn't anticipate the need to replace He Who Shall Not Be Named in the attack.

-----------------------------------------------

Whether it's just a coincidence that both Ziyech and Antony are left footed I'm not sure but he might prefer left footed players on the right and vice-versa on the opposite side.

Yes because we have AWB and Dalot who are both awful. Ronaldo isn't going anywhere so we'll have to wait for that area to be fixed.

I'm surprised you'd want a CF when you're so adamant Greenwood is coming back.

Greenwood ia a wide forward, not a CF

Bailly - Doesnt need replacing.

Lindelof - New CB

Matic - Garner

Pogba - Donny

Mata - Amad

Lingard - Doesnt need replacing

Cavani - New CF

Amad is so far away it's not funny.

Struggles to make our bench.

The biggest issues is a Striker. There just isn't anyone available for a reasonable price. Even the kid at Benefica will cost us a third of the budget.

That Ronaldo fella looks alright.
