If you got a job the year Christ was born, it paid 100,000$ a day,
and you worked until now, Bill Gates would still have more money than you.
Anyone think this is justifiable?

Sat nav so true! It has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system! When I hear people talk about communism It’s insane. Did they not see the genocides?
=====
Most genocides happen under capitalism.

Lifted people out of poverty? Define poverty.

It's 'boring' to look at countries where the people are happy and try to understand what they're doing right? You're an idiot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re an idiot for not having the faintest idea of what variables are at play for this type of discussion.
Billionaires, taxes, higher taxes, higher taxes in Scandinavia that must be why they are happier so let’s adopt their policies and we’ll be happier too.

To be fair, most on here don’t want communism just much higher taxes for ‘the rich’ to subsidise education, healthcare and living wages for the entire nation. Not that ‘the rich’ don’t already contribute far more than the average tax payer but that’s conveniently forgotten.
There are some who advocate for policies that certainly get close to state control such as eroding private property rights or perhaps limiting the amount of wealth that an individual can accumulate.
It’s the boring & predictable obsession with looking to the Nordic countries to be held as some shining light for us all to behold.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It might be boring, but is it true.
Well every year there is a poll to find the happiest people, and every year a nordic country wins it with the others well up there.
The rich tend to have their money in tax havens not the UK so paying less than a plumber
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You have to define rich people mate. The top 1% pay around 28% of all income tax receipts in this country.
You are also incorrectly linking happiness with income inequality/higher taxes and thinking that it’s a one size fits all. It really isn’t.
For a start - those countries have populations of either 5m or 10m - UK is around 70m.

Being anti capitalism doesn't mean you are pro communism. This debate is often hounded by that. Hardcore capitalists always bring up communism during these debates, and its as if they're arguing with a communist.
Capitalism is a failure in its own right.

Why are you replying to me with that above? I literally just corrected UWW about people not actually wanting communism.
Capitalism is imperfect in its own right but I would take its imperfections over socialism or communism - every day of the week and ten times on Sunday.

Wasn't necessarily directed at you. More of a general observation

Good thing I haven't seen anyone propose or even bring up communism except you just now.
