We should still get through the group over our next four games but very frustrating tonight. Perhaps it has highlighted the fact we need certain players in to make it work though? There were glimpses of what we're trying to do there but not enough.

The problem is that if we come second in the group, we're going to have a very difficult play off tie against a team who came third in a CL group.

Plus, our fixture congestion is going to be horrendous if our next two league games are postponed, without adding two extra games to that. Really could have done with getting a result tonight. What we got was poor

Unless there’s a shock in the CL there won’t be many good sides dropping down.

Martinez showed plenty of urgency and played well. Eriksen was lively when he was on. The rest didn't do anything worthy of mention tbh

I thought Elanga was good. Not good enough to push the starting 11 but can’t fault the guy’s effort today

But you can fault the amount of times he gave the ball away. He does not look like scoring or assisting much. Sancho, who was rubbish today at least gets some goals.

When you have Ronaldo up top and Maguire at CB forget about. Luckily ETH has copped on to this quickly.

Maguire wasn’t an issue today.

Relative to every other defender at the club Maguire is the least of an "issue".

The "issues" are, once again, absence of genuine width and a proper striker.

Ten Hag has a horrific home European record. Not sure why. At least it’s better away from home

Well when the opposition best chance creator is the ref it is the main reason why we lost today. ETH had us setup to win and wasteful finishing by us and an amazing assist by the ref won them the game. Assist of the season ignoring all rules to give a pen to them.

The Process there XG was probably 0.2 without the pen so Maguire must have had a good night then to stop them.

There's a massive difference in Varane/Martinez and Maguire/Lindelof.

As soon as Maguire and Lindelof get control of the ball they invite pressure onto themselves and we then find it difficult to move the ball forwards and it effects every phase of play after that as the players further up the pitch have to compensate for their inability on the ball.
