Wolves v Brentford Match Thread

Date: Saturday 15th April
Kickoff: 3pm
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Roll up, roll up, here we go again for another ride on the roller coaster that is Wolves 22/23 version.

Live @ https://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewLiveArticle/453630

For the second weekend in a row Wolves take on visitors from west London in the form of 9th placed Brentford. The bees are currently on a relatively poor run of form with only one win in their last six games since beating Fulham at home in early March.

Brentford have a lack for "winning" penalties with a league high eight and seven scored, helping to contribute to Ivan Toney's 18 goal haul. Hopefully we won't have to witness a repeat of the most blatant and bizarre shathousery that I've ever witnessed at a game during last seasons molineux match up.

Wolves form continues to be unpredictable and despite the excellent victory over Chelsea last weekend we're desperate for points still. Ruben Neves completes his two match suspension so I expect Joao Gomes and Mario Lemina to keep their places alongside Matheus Nunes who at last looked something like the player we expected to see when he joined back in August. Daniel Podence who became a father this week will be available for selection after he was given an extra two days to submit his explanation over the incident with Brennan Johnson at Forest.

Goldi's prediction: a repeat of the scoreline at their place, can't see us keeping a clean sheet somehow 1-1

It's being taken for granted that Neves is about to leave, and I agree it's highly likely. But is it a certainty? If there is the slightest possibility that he might want to stay, would we be eradicating that chance by not starting him?

Could be, but it seems to be that he is going.
I’m sure that the powers that be will have a grasp of the situation. Not being picked for one game should not be relevant. IMO.

I've been reading that we're going to lose Neves for a few seasons now. However, he's still here, probably because we have demanded a huge fee. Not sure anyone came in for him last summer, so the chances are, the same might happen again this time. Personally, I'd like to see him in a more attacking role if he does stay.

It's quite amusing watching Leeds and Forest floundering after they gave it the big one after playing us this season.
