Looks like Maguire has made demands for a pay off that the club aren't prepared to accept.
This guy is in for some real stick if he stays.

The most interesting thing about the whole Maguire saga is that very few clubs have actually expressed any interest in him. For a supposedly top player, it's surprising really. I have never rated him but with all the so called experts and commentators overrating him so much, I was starting to think that I may have has a clouded judgement. However, the lack of interested from top clubs speaks volumes.

Its because he's sh!t mate and commentators love to big up English players, especially when playing for England against part time window cleaners.
You can count on one hand the amount of fantastic games he's had for united. Genuinely, there's only been a few where I've thought "you know what, he's actually played really well".
Its mostly typical Maguire sh!te, smashing the ball out of the field with his apparent amazing passing ability, getting caught off guard, fouling his own team mates, terribly out of position time and time again, someone jogging past him as he's so slow, trying to score a header but ends up defending the opposition's goal with his shockingly bad heading ability.
But to be fair, he's going to have to take a big pay cut after united, and anyone with any sense would try get what they're contracted to be paid, especially if the pay cut is a bit as his will be.

I wondered why ETH felt the need to call Maguire out in the conference yesterday.
On one hand, I like that we aren't caving into his demands, why should we pay off the rest of his deal? On the other, it's our own fault for giving him such a ridiculous contract in the first place.

I wouldn't be suprrised if he ends up at Villa, now that Mings is out for a period.

Not for you, could have bought him for 30m and then sold him to arsenal next season for 150m

To be realistic the club actually needed him to not go in the first place.
The sight of Lindelof coming on yesterday only emphasised that.
In the rigours of the most competitive senior league on the planet he's a very reliable resource.
Particularly so when we already know he isn't now going to be in front of the liability that pretended to be a gk.
Any defensive player could not accurately and truly beassessed and judged UNTIL coco had left. Now he's gone the defence can get back to concentrating on defending and not worry so much about what's going on behind them

That's a bizarre take.
Lindelof isnt good enough to start regulalry, but that doesnt mean Maguire is.
We saw Onanas reaction towards Maguire in their limited time together so far.

Fair enough if he thinks he’s owed the rest or the difference of his contract because we fcked up and thought he was better than he actually is.
Must realise the only way he’s going to earn that now is by sitting on the bench until the end of his contract.
Otherwise he needs to leave and get paid whatever anyone else thinks he’s actually worth now days. Will probably lose his England place Sat on the bench all season too.

If Colwill has a good season for Chelsea, Southgate will have some thinking to do.
I still think Maguire will play regardless, but he's definitely risking it if he stays. He just isn't going to get many games here.
