To my eye the key was playing them close to each other with Kenzo more advanced.

Something still seems very off with the timing. Clowes is an honourable chap so it is out of character for him to deliver the axe with no opportunity for Warne and Barker to do their goodbyes. I get the feeling that he suddenly got the word on Friday morning that his chosen man had given him the green light and would have felt hypocritical to allow Warne to remain in charge once his fate had been decided. Barker leaving and Hamshaw staying (for now) is also curious - maybe the new guy (assuming there is one in the wings) has indicated he will bring his assistant but perhaps no more than that.

All guesswork of course. We will find out soon enough.

That and the fact Hamshaw clearly indicated he would like to stay on. My understanding is they've worked together at Rotherham and PW referred to his team when he was appointed, that he'd want all of them to come with him. Strikes me as Hamshaw has acknowledged Warne's good work but would now like to remain here and wishes PW the best.

The other thing is if Warne was sacked because the said man is coming in surely the finer details ( for example Eustace) with said club would already have been finalised. If they do not come to an agreement then Derby would have to look elsewhere.

Thats my thoughts too Vidal. I think its Eustace as rumours about it are flying everywhere. i think DC had spoken to him, hes said yes and sacked Warney.

Whilst I'm sure Clowes has got relatively high morals, he's also a successful businessman. So morals don't always count for much and
I'd be amazed if he hasn't been talking to people for a few weeks tbh.
At least he not shown Warne the door and wheeled in the replacement through the next door.

I cant remember them playing in that formation when Ozoh was fit, Ebou was often the advanced MF. My memory's not the best though and it would require some research, which seems a little pointless now that PW has gone.

The point is more that Ozoh hasn’t played in any position for many months and I’m sure that has cost us points. If this formation is the key then maybe PW would have found it also if he’d been playing. We will never know.
