Madders > Kulu

May be a controversial take here.

Now of course Kulu was unplayable for about 3 months this season and was the best player in the team. However apart from that period he has been extremely inconsistent (same as his whole spurs career tbf).

For me, Madders has been the better player over the season DESPITE the stick he consistently gets. Not only is he a huge goal threat, but him being in the midfield really helps us tick and gives us *some* control of the game - when kulu has replaced him the last few games we have really lost control of the game.

Anyway, onwards to next Thursday, nervous but hopefully we can get over the line. Surely playing on 3G shouldn’t destroy us - afterall they are professional players who probably played on 3G as a kid!

Don't mean to be downbeat...... But just going on the law of averages.....what are the chances Spurs will beat United 4 times in a season.... Its not like we are lot better than them..... Bit worrying
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They have that 'spirit' when they came back to score 3 goals in how many minutes to clutch their quarter final 7-6?
But talking about averages I don't see many teams doing this game after game.
Examples:
We literally made the Champions League Final by, and this is an outlier when I always cry out "it's a team game, not individual-based", we made it all down to one superstar player: Lucas Moura. HE alone got us to the final and the fact Pochettino didn't pick him to play in the Final will never ever be forgiven. We must never forget this when peeps cry our for his return as a manager. Nosiree, and I don't give a flying fluck what picks Harry Kane ahead of Lucas Moura.
That game was probably the single most amazing game Sours have ever played, over in Amsterdam.

Next, the way we clutched the UEFA Cup Final to win it on penalties with Tony Parks in goal stepping in for Ray Clemence, another one in a million game.

Also the FA Cups in 81 and 82. None of these games were "boring" 1-0 anti-climaxes.

My point? We have yet to play one of these "outliers" in this competition, Utd have had theirs already.
This is what will make us with it, *if* we actually make it that far. Let's hope we aren't Bodo farewell...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You know Bodo have won every home game in the comp by 2 goals
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They lost at home to Quarabag and beat Besiktas 2-1 .

We just have to be on our game.

It showed last night that even with a very solid display, when they had 1 shot on target, 7 touches in our box and Vic didnt make a save, we still managed to concede.

We cannot let them get too comfortable like we did in the 2nd half and we needed to maintain the intensity.

I though the team selection really did point to us being intense and then having fast fresh legs to come on. But the 2nd half our intensity dropped off, we began to cruise at 3 nil and when the fresh legs did come on we weren't really controlling the game (albeit that we comfortably had them at arms length).

We shouldn't be scared of their home form, we cannot let that get in our heads and make it a bigger thing than it actually is. an 8k capacity, plastic pitch. There's no way that should make a 3 goal advantage. We score, the ties over and that needs to be the focus.

And Spurs haven't lost by more than one goal in the comp, so what's your point? Frankfurt had scored in every home game I think, until Spurs turned up.

as midfielders I don't think it's particularly close

Deki is essentially a second striker when he plays in there
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah recently (with him being poor) he has essentially been second striker and thats meant we have lost control. However he is still replacing maddison/his mf position.

Also, start of the season kulu was playing a lot deeper/CAM often instead of maddison. So its a fair comparison. I actually really liked when they were both in the middle, that was crazy, but team is so shot of confidence that can’t happen again

3-2. Another one of our games where we got battered but scored a consolation to make it a 1 goal defeat

I think Madders has shown a higher level. During those first 10 games Madison was like the best player in the league.
