It's funny because there are a number of teams ahead of both us & Spurs in the PL that I'd be more confident of beating in a once off game than Spurs.

I would honestly prefer if we were playing one of the big 3 because the style of game would suit us more etc. But there is no-one I would feel confident playing from the EPL, maybe except the bottom 3. I really don't like the fact it's Spurs we are playing

If spurs play it and treat it like a European game I’d be confident, we’ve been better than them in this competition. If their mindset and performance is that of a PL game they could get the upper hand quickly.

My feelings keep switching one way then the other

Right now, i can see that Utd have some quality and that you have made some great come backs to make it to the final after a slow start and you remain unbeaten.

This season has been brutal for Spurs and the manager, but i feel that we have grown through this adversity and are stronger now mentally. It hasnt shown in the league but if we are honest we haven't really tried since about mid-March and have only put out our strongest line-ups in Europa, and when we have there's been a rarely seen steely determination.

Whether that's enough to get us over the line, who knows. There's not much difference in quality, with our best midfielders missing .

I think United have the edge for a few reasons. Firstly I think they have played better football that Tottenham this season - albeit sporadically. Second Amorim will still be there next season whereas Ange almost certainly won't. When the manager is a dead man walking it affects the team. Finally I think Amorim is more tactically astute than Ange though that bar is set pretty low.

A near guaranteed winning opportunity is down to the possible presence of these 5 (below) in an attack minded front six:

Garnacho
Fernandes
Mount
Hojlund
zirkzee

And a defence that includes both Maguire and Shaw

However, a near guaranteed losing opportunity is, conversely, down to those same players being absent, and mitigated further by the possible presence of cretins like dalot and lindelof.

I'm not holding my breath but United DO have the better potential starting XI, it just remains to be seen who is picked to start.

In the meantime, I'm going to settle in to watch The Good, The Bad And The Ugly .... to prepare myself better if the football starts to look the same.

Sadly, I think it will be Spurs' night, after a low-scoring, low-quality game. We're even Spursier than they are nowadays and I just think Ange's "second season" thing will come true (then they'll sack him anyway for the league form).
