There was a bit of talk on the phone in a week or two back on the atmosphere at the stadium. It strikes me that the grounds with some of the best atmospheres have a club "anthem". Man City - Blue Moon, Stoke - Delilah, West Ham - Forever Blowing Bubbles, Liverpool - You'll Never Walk Alone, Leeds - Marching on Together etc. Forest sing a song to the tune of Mull of Kintyre as the game starts and thats always pretty loud. Stringer said we have When You're Smiling but it's not exactly rousing is it...

I read in the Mercury a couple of years ago that drunk Leicester fans used to sing it in the pub in the 60s Then they just decided to sing it at the football and it caught on.

On a slightly different point regarding atmosphere, can you remember fans bringing balloons and ripping up there sporting blue paper before kick off and then releasing them as the players walked on the pitch at the start of the game? That used to get everyone going....

It's OK, I wouldn't expect you to be able to identify what an atmosphere is, I just remember you lot with surprised and confused looks on your faces when we sung in August. Singing is an alien concept to you lot.
