Gossip from The Times suggesting Arsenal have held talks with the representatives of Jose Enrique, what are the thoughts on him as a replacement for Clichy?
Personally I'm of the opinion that he'd be a vast improvement, not as pacey but does have a better end product when it comes to whipping a cross into the box and more reliable at the defensive side of the game.
Can he make the step up to a club like Arsenal?
Jose Enrique

Yes, top player and arguably the best left-back in the league.

Always a risk when you buy a player from a mid to bottom half of the table club, you dont for sure if they just look good at that level, but are not good enough to step up. But at the moment i'd still rather him than clichy

I think he's pretty good. More than adequate replacement for Clichy.

I'd like Clichy to stay. If he does leave, I'd prefer Leighton Baines. Although Enrique wouldn't be a bad signing.

Apparently Enrique has a poor positional sense defensively.

agree with Vermalean.....Enrique would be an improvement over Clichy...his only deficiency could be improved by Arsenal training..he is fast enough...gets forward..and for sure is much better at centering a ball.
and his 1 v 1 defensive abilities are excellent...if we had him, Sagna, Vermalean, and ether Cahill or Samba..then our back line takes a huge step towards being better..

Whats wrong with Gibbs?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont think anything is wrong with gibbs to be honest. He's just quite injury prone. I think gibbs will get better but he does need to play more e.g. more cup game starts and probably starts against teams like wigan at home
