Crying about the ref

Afternoon

So our run is over.
The world is ending.
The sky is falling.
Death awaits.

No, not really

Yes we lost a couple of crucial decisions.

But we can't blame the ref for that shambles of a first half. We were out-fought, out-battled and out-played.

We have made a name for ourseleves starting like a house on fire, tearing into teams and getting early goals.
But we succumbed to our very own trick. They hassled us, harried us, and we didn't cope.
The taste of our own medicine proved to be too bitter.

Not the ref's fault.
Our fault.

We learn, move one, and don't let it happen again.

On the plus side....we scored a penalty

It is a strange fantasy world removed from reality in which we humans live. There we are either watching, listening to or reading a football match and realities happen but because the officials say they don't then they don't happen. A good goal in reality didn't happen in fantasy because the Ref said so. A good goal did happen and everybody saw it happen but we are denied reality even though officials live in the real world by the fact that they said it didn't happen. Stupid isn't it? There were hand balls on the line in reality but the official said they didn't happen so they didn't happen. We live in a dream world.

Sharron.

I think you are being too harsh on us.

Yes, we didn't take ages to get going BUT its is more the case that we did not have the height as much as physical strength to defend the set pieces/afterall.

They didn't create much in open play, we just could not cope with it and when we did have the ball we gave it away cheaply.

It was a poor start BUT it was very very difficult to defend against and Stoke were really up for it.

The seond half was better because (1) we went all attack and (2) Stoke tried to defend what they had.

I can accept the odd bad decision. We were lucky that Cahill was off last week (when we were leading) BUT in that game we had 2 clear penalties and an offside goal disallowed AND Kaboul was booked for a nothing trip when Woodgate should have been booked again for a much worse late challenge, in the first half.

4 massive decisions.

They were way better than us first half. We were way better than them second half.

The difference was the ref and that should never be the case!

"More annoyed that Stoke are the only team in the PL allowed to take up to a minute to take a throw in whilst the back 4 jog their way into the penalty area"

moments of the game :

In the last 10 mins when the Stoke "counter-attacks" went end to end from 10 to 0 mph in 20 seconds.

How can long throws + jumping for headers be so tiring ??
