Is he still better than Ashley Young?

If you make chances then the Crosses must be good.

Both of them are over-rated. They're both good pl players but nothing better. Not even sure how young is at man u. Thought they'd be after better than that then again i suppose they had to fill the gaping hole left by obertan somehow

Indeed. Suarez had a few chances to score today but instead of making space and getting the shot away he chose to turn the defender three times, as if once isn't enough. This happens often. He is good at it and it looks fantastic but sometimes it's better to get your shot away early before the defence can get organised and get a block in.

Oh is that how you measure talent? Well ok, if you say so. Downing had more goals and assists last season than Modric has had in all his time at Spurs.
Also to register an assist, the striker has to score. We can't keep blaming the creators for the attackers missing.

Ashley Young has been a disappointment since the 8-2 IMO. That being said he is miles ahead of Downing in terms of ability. I genuinely would have Marc Albrighton instead of Downing.

true.....it was an easy dig. chances are being missed but downing is also guilty of that too. stats are not the be all and end all but he should have registered something by now, 15 games in

toor. try and remember downing and modric play different roles and positions. downings job is to cross and shoot. players like modric have the job of getting the ball to the likes of downing.....shouldn't have to explain that to a footy fan really!

I know that, I was trying to make you understand that to get an assist, the person you pass to has to score. If you're passing to the fullback which is what Downing has had to do most of the season, due to our tactics of playing a second striker up front on his own, who lifts to drift, leaving Downing with nobody to aim at.
Yesterday was Downing's best game and I suspect if him and Carroll play more together and we drop this silly idea of Suarez being a lone striker, we'll start to see not only assists for him but goals for our attackers. Twenty shots per game and the odd goal isn't good enough. However this tells you the creators ARE creating but the attackers aren't scoring.
