re: SUNDAY MIRROR today
Neil Warnock is poised for a high-speed return to management.
Warnock was sacked by QPR last week and is a potential successor to Simon Grayson at Leeds.
The Yorkshire club have hit a dismal run of form and the pressure is growing on Grayson.
He needs to turn around the club’s season or chairman Ken Bates could well lose patience.
Warnock has something of a reputation as a firefighter – and has won six promotions in his career – more than any other manager.
Warnock was replaced by Mark Hughes last week, but his availability will have been noted by Bates. He once tried to appoint him manager of Chelsea after Warnock had led Notts County into the top flight.
Warnock turned down Bates, but the chance to take over at Elland Road could be one too good for him to reject.
Warnock has said he will spend time with his family in the wake of leaving QPR after just 22 months in charge.
Another club who may be interested in Warnock’s availability are Ipswich.
Paul Jewell’s team are hovering around the Championship relegation zone and his future has been the subject of intense speculation.

"for me warnock and curbishley are the best options"
......................................................................................
Of those two it's got to be Curbishley. If Warnock takes us up we need to start planning who to replace him with before he takes us down again . . .
