Hi lads Villa fan here. Erm seen the fixtures and and planning to do my first ever trip to newcastle next february with a few mates, the overnight stuff etc. Just wanted to ask a couple questions..
1. Any suggestion for hotels/bars to go to? I think the night before the game we'll stumble into a club I know newcastle is a great night out from what ive heard.
2. Best pubs for away fans on matchday? usually i go on the coach/train to away games for the day out but staying over I might not be able to follow where some villa fans go.
3. is it true even the fattest sod can pull? Just one if my mates is a right tuby tucks and thinks he can get anything in newcastle.
cheers
Newcastle away

A little bit of info for your 'tubby' friend - the stand for the away fans is seven storeys up i.e. about 14 flights of stairs - so he/she should start training now!!
Fortunately for me when I visited there a few seasons ago I was able to use the lift as I had just had an op on my leg - but it's not generally available to people who are 'weightily challenged'.
Won't be visiting again in the near future as my team are now in the 1st Div. - but am looking forward to being able to climb the stairs there soon.

3. Depends if there's any Mackems about. He'll definitely be able to pull though. So many people go clubbing and there are a fair few tubby lasses around, so he has a chance

JAV, each to their own. There's always a few that like to swim against the tide. Of course, I'm sure the fact you lost 6-0 and the laughing that was done at your expense has nothing to do with your opinion

Villa aren't really liked in Newcastle mate, due to their pathetic attempts at gurning and generally pitiful relish of our demise when we went down in 2009/10, so wouldn't advertise your Villa support. Just a friendly hint mate.
