Haven't been on here for a while, but I when I was last here one of the guys had done a bit of maths and had basically come up with a '3 phase plan' to us getting top 4, with us hitting x, y and z amount of points in each phase to give us a total that going by previous years is enough for top 4.
I can't remember all the numbers but we hit phase 1 with a couple of points to spare I believe.
Phase 2 I remember to be 13 points. I'm not sure when this started, but we've obviously faultered a bit since the Man City game. To be expected to an extent with the tougher run, but it seems to me that we are maybe not on course to pick up that 13 points for this 'phase'.
Can anyone give me an update on where we are with this? I like most am a bit down about the apparent drop away from the top and starting to look over our shoulders. When you consider we were an inch of Defoe's right foot of going 3 behind the leaders, I think we might start to feel the pressure these next few weeks.
Defeat to United this week, which less be honest is often a given (I actually feel a bit of confidence about this if we have a decent team out, but we know the history of this fixture), would see us potentially just 4 ahead of them lot down the road with more tough games to follow. It will be a stern test of our credentials in my opinion, and while hopefully our boys will see it through, it won't be easy.
how are we looking in the 3 phase plan?

The RDBD is yer man. He plotted the 3 phase periods for this season. IIRC phase 2 ends after the Chelsea game on 24 March

Currently +1 on schedule.
Stuttering a bit at the moment, but I knew this would be so.

RDBD - we're currently +1 in your 'phase 2'?
That's pretty good going, I would have expected we'd be behind target at the moment.
I think also, maybe more 'other' results have gone our way than we might have expected -ie our nearest rivals not picking up as many points as we might have thought.

We are in the "concertina" phase now IMHO for the top 3.
The gaps may come and go, but none of the outsiders are going to overtake dem teams now.
