As a United fan I still believe that Liverpool are still slightly ahead of us in terms of overall success on the pitch. Yes we have more league titles, but those extra EC/CLs that you have just tip it in your favour for me.
Im not looking for people put forwards any way of measuring the success of our teams, as there really isn't any way of doing it properly. Cups have gone up and down in terms of value over the years and formats have changed.
What I am looking for is how many more PL titles United would have to win, before Liverpool fans would concede that United have overtaken them? Assuming that neither team wins any other trophies during this spell - how many more PL titles do we need?
When will United overtake Liverpool?

CL and European Cups are worth 2 league titles
so 2 CLs puts you ahead
or 4 league titles
or 1 CL and 2 titles
you can't fight the maths

The trophy haul is pretty even but its impossible to quantify how many league titles equal an old European Cup. As a Liverpool fan, the most honest answer I can give is to ask myself whether I would swap United's more recently acquired trophy haul with our historic success. The answer sadly, is yes.

I'd agree with that. Although I quite like the fact that I've seen bad times and good times and feel like there is more to look forward to.

When will ManU overtake the mighty Reds? When the desert freezes, and the camels come skating home, over the ice. There, you've read it here first. jimmyTheRed

All of this hog-wash about which trophy is bigger/better and all that, let me put my silly contribution on the table.
Now let it be abundantly clear that I don't think myself as the smartest in the world, but in my insignificant opinion, I believe the major trophies an English club can win are
The Premier League
The Champions League
The FA Cup
For me the Carling Cup is a 2nd tier domestic Cup, i.e a minor one, where most of the top clubs use it as a means of giving their reserves and young'uns a run about.
If we are speaking of honors overall I believe L'pool are ahead 41-40 or something to that effect(correct me if I am wrong).
